Amaze yourself as you breathe underwater and explore, in direct contact with colorful, tropical fish and turtles at the Escambrón Marine Park in San Juan. Learn the basic skills of SCUBA diving under the direct supervision of a certified professional in the shallow part of the beach. When ready, swim alongside your guide to explore the "Atlantis City", ruins of the historic "fish wall", and natural coral reefs teeming with marine life inside this beautiful, protected bay.

The PADI Open Water Diver course is your first step towards a lifetime of adventure. The course is comprised of three sections: Knowledge Development which covers the principles, concepts and terms you need to know for dive safety and enjoyment. You can take the first step towards earning your PADI Open Water Diver certification right now by enrolling in the PADI Open Water Diver Course Online here: https://www.padi.com/courses/open-water-diver. Confined Water Dives where you will learn and practice scuba skills in a pool or water with pool-like conditions. You will make mini dives that take you through the same steps you follow when you make open water dives. Open Water Dives where you will complete your training at local dive sites. You must complete the Knowledge Development part of the course before conducting any of the Confined and Open Water Dives.

5.00I had an amazing experience with my coach Francisco at Scuba Dogs. He put in so much effort and dedication to make sure I learned all the diving skills, and he never held back in sharing his knowledge. He was always on time and went above and beyond to make the training enjoyable and safe. Everything Scuba Dogs promised, they delivered — and even more. Personally, I’ve never seen such a great instructor or a diving school that matches this level of professionalism and passion. Highly recommend!

5.00I completed my Open Water Certification with Scuba Dogs and it was an amazing experience. My instructor Paco was excellent—very technical, patient, and explained the “why” behind every step, which made the training really stick. I loved diving right from the beach into the ocean—it gave me a whole new perspective compared to boat dives. Customer service was clear and professional—costs, time, and equipment were all explained upfront, and nothing felt rushed. All the gear was solid and well-maintained. Highly recommend Scuba Dogs in San Juan—especially if you can train with Paco. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in Puerto Rico!

5.00Had the most amazing experience getting scuba certified and diving. Instructor Andy was amazing at teaching the entire course. He was an incredible guide taking us to amazing dive locations to see the amazing nature and fish underwater. Absolutely the best experience ever!

5.00I highly recommend choosing Scuba Dogs for your PADI certification and training needs! Their Escambrón location was closed for renovations, so I took the 2-Day Open Water PADI Certification with Dale Ramsey out of their Guaynabo location. Their shop was communicative and helpful in ensuring I had everything I needed to succeed in the course (thank you, Nicole). And, I echo other reviews - I cannot recommend this training with Dale enough! He is a FANTASTIC, knowledgeable instructor who brings out the best in his dive students. I got to explore a new part of the island and have a great new hobby :) can’t wait to go on more dives with Scuba Dogs!

5.00Finished my open water cert with Dale great instructor makes everyone feel comfortable and is very knowledgeable.Dale really showed his passion for scuba and his enthusiasm drove the class in a positive way . Had such a great experience and plan to continue diving from this company.
Amazing trip experience for a first time scuba diver, highly recommend Dale Ramsey, Paco, and Alberto as instructors.

5.00My experience was amazing, Dale Ramsey led my group along with Paco and I could tell I was in amazing hands and going to have a great experience from the beginning. We did a total of 10 dives and every single one of them was a blast, I would highly recommend it to anyone that is looking to scuba dive or even just have a good time in any of the courses they offered at Scuba Dogs.
