Grand Egyptian Museum

The Grand Egyptian Museum The GEM Complex is now offering limited tours to test site readiness and the visitor experience ahead of the official opening. Access is currently limited to the Grand Hall, Grand Staircase, commercial area, and exterior gardens. All other interior spaces, including access to the galleries and collections, are restricted until the official opening. The Grand Egyptian Museum also known as the Giza Museum, is an archaeological museum under construction in Giza, Egypt, about 2 kilometres (1.2 miles) from the Giza pyramid complex. The Museum will host over 100,000 artifacts from ancient Egyptian civilization, including the complete Tutankhamun collection, and many pieces will be displayed for the first time. With 81,000 m2 (872,000 sq ft) of floor space, it will be the world's largest archeological museum. It is being built as part of a new master plan for the Giza Plateau, known as "Giza 2030".

The sphinx of Giza The Sphinx is the biggest statue in Egypt which was carved out of one hill. This statue is about 73 meters long, 20 meters high and 15 meters wide. This wonderful statue belongs to the king Khafra and it dates back to the 26th century BC.

    Our Egyptologist guide Zizou has made our visit to GEM an incredible experience that we highly recommend. It was tireless for us to get the most out of everything such a great museum could give us. Also in the accompaniment that made us on the visit to the pyramids and sphinx could not have been better. The only call of attention we make is that it is not clear in the description of the experience that the museum entrance tickets and pyramids are not included. One part says yes, the other says no. You have to review it.

    It was an excellent day, our guide Zizou is an amazing Egyptologist and it was fantastic to visit the GEM with his explanations. An experience I recommend. A visit to the Pyramids and Sphinx was also well worth it.
