Kim Ngan Temple
The Kim Ngân communal house is located on Hang Bac street in Hanoi's old quarter. It is one of three structures built for social gatherings and worship of a legendary figure revered as the inventor of all trades. During the Indochina conflict, the structure was used as a training center for nurses and troops, as well as a lecture hall for teaching Vietnamese Romanized script. From 1954 through 2009, a number of families lived there, but by 2009, the remaining 25 households had been relocated in an effort to restore the structure to a close approximation of its original design. The repair work was carried out by Hoan Kiem District specialists with technical support from Toulouse, France.

5.00Jaenie is an excellent and highly qualified guide! She has an impressive resume of internships that helps her give better tours. My wife and I had been in Ha Noi and seen many sites the day before the tour, but had felt underwhelmed with the city. Jaenie was able to give us our full appreciation of the temples and teach us to appreciate details that we will look for in every temple we see for the rest of our time here. She turned Ha Noi from a city that I might otherwise have suggested skipping over to peers to one that I would reccomend so long as they take walking tours. After the tour she lead us to a hidden jewel of a coffee shop free from the typical swath of tourists where we had some delicious coconut coffee frappé drinks. Remember to tip your guides too!

5.003 hour tour of Ha Noi and we were lucky enough to have May on board for her first tour. We are in awe of both Phuong Anh (Camille) and Van Anh (May) English fluency. They had great depth of knowledge in the history of the area. Loved the hidden gem rooftop coffee shop they showed us and enjoyed sharing a special social moment together.

5.00We had a lovely afternoon with the walking tour through the old quarter. Relaxed vibes and we were very well taken care off. Explored some places we would never have found ourselves. Clear communication up front via text and our guides’ English was great! Learned a lot about Hanoi, but also about living in Vietnam - added great value to it for us.

5.00Tony was great ! Showed us around the many attractions with great explanations of the history. At the end of the tour, he showed us to a great coffee shop hidden behind a silk shop with an upstairs area with great views and coffee. So very pleased we did this tour.

5.00Camille (Phuong Anh) was our tour guide and she was great! She was kind and showed us around the Old Quarter. Our tour included temples, the lake, the market, 36 streets area, St Joseph’s Cathedral, and a stop for some dessert.

5.00My wife and I had an amazing time touring Hanoi with Camille (Phuong Anh)! Camille showed us around the Old Quarter, markets, and a few temples! Camille was very intelligent about the history of Hanoi and gave lots of context of various Vietnamese legends and history. Camille also gave us plenty of food and coffee recommendations. I would 100 percent recommend!
