We will arrange for your pickup either from your hotel in the Old Quarter or our designated MEETING POINT. You will be transported to the outskirts of Hanoi in a comfortable minivan or car, which takes around 30 minutes to escape the bustling city. Once we reach the village, our Hanoi Countryside Sidecar Tour begins, allowing you to explore the authentic countryside that is rarely visited by tourists. This is a unique opportunity to witness the daily lives of local people. Encounter local farmers at work on the rice paddies, vegetable and flower farms, orchards, and bonsai gardens, as well as livestock and cattle such as water buffaloes, ducks, and chickens farms. It offers a contrasting experience to the hustle and bustle of city life and provides a truly eye-opening perspective.
Co Loa Citadel
Our main destination for the day is the Co Loa ancient citadel. This historic site dates back to 280 BC and offers a captivating insight into Vietnamese culture, history, and mythology through its well-preserved architecture. Additionally, we delve deep into the traditional way of life in rural Hanoi with activities such as wet rice farming, exploring local farmer markets, and witnessing the production of handicrafts. Co Loa village is like a living museum, presenting the essence of Vietnamese culture and daily life. We conclude our incredible day with a meal at a local family’s home, enjoying an authentic Vietnamese meal. Here, we have the opportunity to indulge in authentic Vietnamese cuisine and forge a meaningful connection with the local culture.

5.00We had an amazing experience with Doanh and Xuan. We started with a scooter trip from the old quarter up north if the city, we were taking through back roads and small alleys that made quite a fun and thrilling time. We were welcomed with a banquete of incredibly delicious homemade food. The portion was enormous. Later que took the sidecar vespas to do the tour loop. Here we stopped to see the and identify crops, talk with the ladies that were working in the fields. The ride was a mixture of road and small paths trough the rice fields. All the time Doanh was explaining all what we were visiting and viewing, he gave a lot of insights on traditions and culture. In the meantime Xuan was always looking for plants and crops that he would share with us! It was a very nice experience! And hats off to both riders that make it very fun and interesting.

5.00Hanoi Back Street Tours was excellent and I highly recommend them for a personal tour. The side car tour is very different and great for sight seeing. They are very good with their history and very informative. We booked 2 tours with them and both were great. Thank you to Huy and Manh who were our tour guides who were patient, kind and very respectful. Thank you very much.

5.00⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had a fantastic time on our Hanoi sidecar tour with Huy! It was an amazing way to be completely immersed in the local culture — so much to see, learn, and experience. Huy was incredibly informative, friendly, and passionate about sharing the history and hidden gems of the city. The meal at the end was absolutely delicious and the perfect way to wrap up the day. We thoroughly enjoyed every moment — highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Hanoi!

5.00Vu was picked up at the hotel in a taxi when it rained. Out in the village - where the trip began - we were invited into a private home for homemade lunch. Really delicious. We were only 3 in the group [yet a plus] and we got each our sidecar / side wagon - and then go! Eminent guide who was a really good narrator, and very knowledgeable both about contemporary conditions and about histological background. We saw really many fun and different places on the trip. A must for the traveler who may want a little "above" the beautiful sightseeing tours.
