Your experience begins with a short video presentation in the main museum. After the video your guide will lead you on a short walking tour along the banks of the New River. You will visit the Pioneer House Museum, and the 1899 Replica Schoolhouse Museum, before returning to view the Seminole culture, Maritime history and pioneer exhibits in the main museum. All three museums are located on the picturesque banks of the New River right in the heart of downtown Fort Lauderdale.

We have a wonderful experience at the History Fort Lauderdale museum. The tour with Daniel was fantastic. He was so knowledgeable about the history of the area, and the founding families. He was also delightful to talk with and we had a lovely time. I would highly recommend a visit to this museum if you're in the fort Lauderdale area. Also the Riverwalk which is right nearby was beautiful and a nice place to stroll.

If you are a history buff, you will love being transported back in time to old Fort Lauderdale. Excellent Guide David uses objects of every day life to tell the early stories. Original buildings

A really interesting collection of old buildings in the original neighborhood of Ft. Lauderdale! Highly recommend the docent tour, it was extremely well done (thanks David!). A great way to learn a lot about the origins of Ft. Lauderdale and what life was like back then. Takes only an hour or two to check it all out.

Excellent museum with in depth exhibits on Broward County’s history! I enjoyed the general overview with dioramas, Black History, and the railroads. Very friendly staff and tour available.

A great tour both for the old structures and for the history of the area. Definitely go for the guided tour. David was very knowledgeable.
