The instructor is a professional chef with an educational background and 7 years of experience in Korean cuisine. (Working michelin guide one star restaurant and Korean consulat in the USA as a Chef)

Class will begin with a demonstration followed by the hands on portion. During the demonstration, you will have some tea or soda, prepared by Chef with high quality ingredients from multiple Korean farms. By the end of the class, you will learn how to cook traditional Korean food from scratch. The space is also perfect for taking photos during and after class, and you will be able to have your food in studio or take it to go. The studio is easily accessible to Gyeongbokgung Palace and the traditional market. I look forward to meeting everyone!

You are going to see a Kimchi making demonstration and then make your own Kimchi. While you are taking the class, the chef will prepare a small meal. It is a private cooking class, available to four people maximum. You can check more about Studio Hakyug at IG studio_hakyung.

I feel confident that I can go back home and make my own kimchi! Hakyung was a very kind, patient and informative instructor and the kimchi we made was so delicious! I would highly recommend this class!

We had such a wonderful time taking the kimchi class with Chef Hakyung and can’t wait to make ours to share with family and friends at home. Chef was very knowledgeable about Korea. Cuisine and made our kimchi making class fun with banter and snacks…just enjoyable! Highly recommend…

A very clean and cozy place. She made a delicious Korean seafood pancake before the class. We learned everything from the washing of cabbage to cutting and of course preparing the ingredients. She speaks great English and answered all our questions. It was amazing! The time was perfect, exactly as announced and we departed the place with our recently made kimchi .

Chef Hakyung’s kimchi class was amazing the overall experience was phenomenal. The small class size made it easy for Chef Hakyung to give her undivided attention to everyone in the class. She explained to us the history of making Kimchi as well as the different ways and styles to make Kimchi. The class was informative and fun! I especially enjoyed the seafood pancake and drinks she made while we were getting set up!

This class was fantastic! Chef Hakyung was a great teacher and very welcoming. Had a blast learning to make kimchi (which was amazing by the way)! She had a lot of knowledge about korean food and the meal she made at the end was delicious! Would 100% recommend this class for everyone! One of the best things we did during our trip to Seoul!

I really enjoyed this class!! I am a solo traveler and it just so happened that the only other person taking the class was another solo traveler. We both really enjoyed learning with Chef Hakyung. She was very personable, made us delicious food and drink and also taught us how to make kimchi. She made it so easy to follow along and now I will make kimchi at home. She even walked with us after the class to get umbrellas because it started raining and walked us to a nearby exhibit after class. 10/10!

If you're looking for a kimchi class in Seoul, you should def try this class! I did a lot of research and this was the only class that gave me cozy vibes, the rest felt a bit too touristy. The chef is really friendly and even prepared a seasonal dish for me to enjoy while explaining everything about kimchi. I really liked that she makes everything from scratch. She also speaks excellent English! Plus, her studio is a beautiful traditional Hanok, which adds to the experience. I can't recommend this class enough 10/10! Can’t wait to enjoy my own kimchi and start making some!

Had a super fun time with Hakyung! Super smart and knowledgeable about cooking. She was super helpful and always encouraging through every step. Cause of her, I will try to make kimchi on my own now. Highly recommend booking this class.
