This tour was incredible, our tour guide Abdul was very accommodating and was always making sure we were having the best experience. He clearly knew his information and was very insightful. I highly recommend anyone who is interested in going to these historic sites to go with this tour and even better if you get Abdul!

Overall good experience and great value for money. Our driver Hossam arrived on time and the car was clean unlike the local taxis and we covered Valley of kings and few other tourist spots. Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to cover luxor with private car compared to the shared trip by bus.

My husband and I came to Luxor with our 4 year old daughter and as it was my husbands first time in Egypt I really wanted to show him some of the Egyptian sights - The Valley of the Kings being top of my list but we weren’t sure because of the heat and because we weren’t sure our daughter would manage it. We enquired with easy jet about doing the trip but they wanted over £100 each and our daughter would have been half price so I started looking online and found the same trip on Viator for half the price (and our daughter went free!). I decided to bite the bullet and book it as the reviews were really good and was one of the only ones on there which also covered all the entry tickets too. After I had booked it I was still a bit worried as we obviously hadn’t spoke to anyone from the company. The morning of the trip I recieved a text message from our tour guide Mohammed 10 minutes before our pick up time letting us know that he was waiting at the front of the hotel when we were ready. On meeting Mohammed for the first time, his big smile completely put me at ease and all my worries disappeared instantly as he welcomed my daughter too. We had a private car to drive us around and he was a passenger in the front which meant he was able to talk to us on the journey and provide us with lots of knowledge about the area - even telling us where the name Luxor came from! During the day it was clear that Mohammed was a well known tour guide as everyone greated him! On our way to the valley of the kings we stopped off quickly where he popped into a shop and surprised us with a bottle of water each. When we arrived at The Valley of the Kings Mohammed took us inside - we kind of felt like royalty the way he spoke to the people that worked there and got us a car quickly to take us up to the tombs. Tour guides aren’t allowed inside the tombs themselves so he got a pack of pictures from one of the sellers and went through all the important facts using the pictures instead so we knew exactly what we were looking at when we went inside which was such a good idea. He warned us that the second tomb had quite a few steps and offered to look after our daughter if we wanted him to but she wanted to come along anyway. Mohammed has so much knowledge about absolutely everything! His English is fantastic too which meant it was a pleasure to listen to him tell us about all the history and all the facts. You really can tell that Ancient Egypt is a passion of his rather than just a job! In the cart on the way back (which is included in the price) my daughter and I sat with the driver and the driver let my daughter drive the steering wheel and press the horn! There is obviously lots of space so there wasn’t any chance of us crashing but it was a lovely touch which she really enjoyed. Once we had finished at The Valley of the Kings, Mohammed took us to a stone making factory which was interesting as they showed us how the stones were crafted and then we had the opportunity to buy if we wanted to. We opted not to but there wasn’t any pressure which was good. We then went to the temple of Hatshepsut which was really interesting. By this point though my daughter was struggling in the heat so we saw the main bits and so we decided to head back to the car. We had opted for the tour option with lunch which we were so glad we did! Mohammed took us to a lovely Egyptian restaurant where again he knew everyone there! The guys there made us feel really welcome and provided us with an Egyptian feast! We choose two different chicken dishes but there were other options on the menu too such as beef and fish. As well as the two chicken dishes the meal consisted of a large dish of rice, lots of bread, a large spinach dish, a large potato ratatouille dish, a chickpea dish, salad and a sauce. We didn’t manage to finish it all but was by far the best food we had eaten all holiday! Drinks were extra but were well priced 100 Egyptian pounds for a 350ml glass bottle of Fanta (other soft drinks were the same). Our daughter was a bit worn out and didn’t really want to try anything so we promised her ice cream if she ate some food first which worked and after trying it she liked everything too! When we were ready, we got back in the car and Mohammed surprised our daughter with a choice of ice cream cones that he had bought from the shop next door! After she had chosen her one he then gave us one each, gave one to the driver and had one himself which was a really lovely and kind gesture and made our lives so much easier with my daughter now happy too! We made a quick stop off to see the Colossi of Memnon and he took some pictures of us and then we went to the Valley of the Queens which is really quiet compared to the Valley of the Kings. We went inside 3 tombs which Mohammed had given us some information about before entering. After these we felt that it was unfair to make our daughter do anymore so we asked Mohammed if he minded if we cut the tour short. He was completely understanding and wanted us to know that he wasn’t in any rush and would stay til we were happy and had seen everything we wanted to. We asked him what he was gonna do when he got back as the tour was finishing early and to our surprise he told us that he was gonna go study some more - on the journey home it became all the more apparent that being a tour guide is very much a vocation for him as much as a career. It’s lovely to witness people like Mohammed who truly love what they do and how they want to be even better. All in all - if you are planning on visiting more of Egypt I wouldn’t recommend anyone more than Mohammed! He was as much enjoyable as the sites we visited and we cannot thank him enough for all the knowledge and the memory he has now given us!

Amazing experience! My guide, Hassan Moghrapy, is extremely knowledgeable about Egyptian history and explained everything in detail throughout the tour. He was also very attentive and always made sure that no one tried to scam me or behave inappropriately. The driver was very punctual, and the car we traveled in was clean and comfortable. I 100% recommend this tour — especially with my guide, Hassan!
