  This was truly a once in a lifetime experience. I’m so thankful for George, our facilitator at Viator he was incredibly responsive and made everything easy. And Roberto, our tour guide, was amazing. We were grateful they accommodated our Machu Picchu trip on such short notice and handled every detail for us.

  This experience was a stress free trip to Machu Picchu! The early morning pickup was seamless as well as transferring from bus to train and back. The tour guide was fantastic and we were able to learn so much about Machu Picchu. They also addressed our concerns about altitude sickness and had oxygen onsite incase anyone of us needed it.

  Salkantay Trek Peru was simply incredible. Every single person on the staff was kind, punctual, and very knowledgeable. Our tour guide Edwin taught us so much about the history of Machu Picchu. The other staff Anyela and George set up everything and promptly got us our tickets without any issue. The entire process was seamless, and we got the experience of a lifetime. They picked us up from our hotel, took us to the bus to Ollantaytambo, then we boarded the Inca Rail to Machu Picchu’s nearby town. Once we reached the town, we met our tour guide Edwin who waited for us outside the station (with a sign - he also texted us beforehand) and took us on a bus up to Machu Picchu. Everything was meticulously planned! I am so happy we ventured outside of our comfort zone, did something outdoorsy, and chose Salkantay to help us!! I highly recommend!!

  I booked this tour as a private one-day tour. What I received was far from that: it turned into a group tour, poorly organized, and left me stressed and unsafe in another country. The agency required us to stay overnight in Aguas Calientes at our own expense, saying it would guarantee smooth entry to Machu Picchu. Instead, we almost did not get in. Despite booking well in advance, the agency delayed purchasing our entry tickets until the last minute and issued them for the wrong day. We were left waiting while they scrambled to “call in favors,” and were even told we might need to stay an extra night. When we finally entered Machu Picchu, things got worse. The guide, who was covering as a favor, insulted the agency and then abandoned us completely inside the site. We were left to navigate this complex and historic place alone, without guidance. This tour was advertised and priced as a premium private guided experience. In reality, it was a mismanaged, stressful group trip with unexpected costs, misinformation, and no proper guiding service. What should have been a once-in-a-lifetime visit to one of the world’s most iconic sites was overshadowed by stress and neglect. I cannot recommend this tour. Viator and the agency failed to deliver on what was sold and left me with extra expenses, unnecessary stress, and a ruined experience.

  We were really looking forward to Machu Picchu, but this company turned it into a stressful two-day ordeal. Our 1-day tour was suddenly changed to 2 days, and we were told to book and pay for our own hotel. On the first day, we had to stand in line for hours just to get our tickets, something we thought had already been taken care of. Then on the next day, our group waited nearly 3 hours at the entrance because the tour guide never showed up and the first one ghosted us. After several calls, someone finally arrived, and we entered around 3:45 p.m., only to be sent into Circuit 3 instead of the Circuit 2 we paid for. We barely had time to see anything before rushing to catch our train. Everything felt unorganized, confusing, and careless. Such a disappointment for a place as incredible as Machu Picchu.

  We did not get what we paid for. No private tour. No tour guide. Were told we had to come in a day earlier to buy tickets because the company was not organized and it ended up being a multi-day tour for us - additional hotel accommodation at our own expense. No snacks as per tour details. Tried to get us to pay our own round trip bus fare even though it is suppose to be included. Declined any compensation. Tickets for the day we paid for were sold out. I was given personal information of other clients - not safe.

  First of all, we booked one-day trip, but it cancelled and changed to two-days trip, accomidation in Aqua Clientes. And they wanted us to pay the hotel and the bus to Machu Picchu. It was 70 usd hotel and 28 usd bu. We did'nt quite understand why they changed the one-day tour to one with accommodation. Was it a government policy? It wasn't nice to add accommodation and bus fees. It wasn't a very cheap tour anyway. It wasn't our fault. Everything could have been included. Moreover, each time I asked the agency questions, expecting an answer. No program was provided. We waited for someone to support us, but she never showed up. She also tried to charge us twice the hotel fee. A women, who greeted us at the train station, didn't give us any information. She took us directly to the ticket counter. She handed us cash and told us to buy our tickets for Circuit 1, which they had chosen. When I asked the agency before, "Isn't it Circuit 2?" you gave me a "100%" as an answer. Also, they took us there at 6:00 a.m. This wasn't our choice. They could have asked. We tried to see the city in rainy and foggy weather. We had come from a distant country and a trying to see it. Our tickets could have been purchased at 10:00 a.m., our train tickets could have been later. We could not see the city nicely. We had only one chance to see the city. It was a stressfuly and rushed tour. We did not feel comfortable trying to get information from the agency all the time. If we did not ask, you did not give info.
