Meteora

Visit the Hermit Caves known by the locals as the caves of Badovas. The hermit caves of Badovas are very close to Kastraki village. Between the village and the town of Kalabaka Badovas is the name of the nearby restored but abandoned Monastery dedicated to Saint Nicolas of Badovas. The caves where Hermit monks use to live an extraordinary life back in 14th century are situated between Kalbaka town and Kastraki Village. The area is surrounded by immerse rock pillars called Pyxari and Amparia and few other smaller rocks.

Visiting 2 wonderful monastries with just to the point explanation to all of the monastries. And plenty of time to take pictures makes it a special experience

It was an excellent day trip and I was able to take another item off my bucket list. Viator and the tour guide, Niki did a superb job in making everything went smoothly and we were glad we did the trip with Viator.

The bus ride is quite long but definitely still worth it! Our tour guide (Eva) lives near Meteora so she met us when we arrived there. She was so informative, friendly, and so helpful... offering to take photos for us at the lookouts we stopped at. We had lunch as soon as we arrived in Meteora and it was delicious. The views in Meteora were breathtaking... so unreal! It was AMAZING! We visited 2 monasteries and stopped at about 4 lookouts so we could take photos. I would definitely recommend this excursion to anyone who is staying in Athens!
The trip was very well organized. The bus picked us up on time, and everything ran smoothly and according to schedule.

The trip was very well organized. The bus picked us up on time, and everything ran smoothly and according to schedule. The driver and guide were polite and attentive. The lunch was delicious. There were several photo stops along the way. The only reason I gave it four stars is because the tour description mentioned a stop at the Hermit Caves. In reality, we only visited two monasteries.

Long day, but worth it! What a beautiful sight! Left at 7 am and got back around 10 pm. So glad I read the other reviews because they were spot on regarding what a great tour this was. Our guide was a little hard to understand due to her accent but she answered questions and overall did a good job.
