Departure place: Athens Train Station (Larissis Station) be there at least 15 min before the departure of the bus at 08:00 am exactly

There will be a sign “METEORA THRONES – TRAVEL CENTER” on the window of the bus , waiting outside the train station on the road across the street from the train station.

Supplier is not responsible if you miss the bus please be there on time

Your guide will be waiting for you upon your arrival at Kalabaka Bus stop

Appropriate clothing for everyone is required to enter the monasteries. For ladies skirts by the knee or longer are required. No pants for ladies, no shorts, no sleeveless shirt. For men sleeveless clothing and shorts over the knee are prohibited.

Please make sure you have cash for the monasteries 5 euro each entrance. There is no ATM machine in the area.

Lunch: The lunch includes a main dish, an atomic salad, bread & water. Vegetarian and vegan options are also available.

Meteora

Depart from Athens at 8:00am to Kalabaka with our coach-bus and admire the beautiful Greek landscapes during your trip. Shortstop midway to Meteora. Arriving in Kalabaka around 12:30 , our highly educated Tour Leader will be waiting for you. MARIA or CLEMENT , who are the top rated guides in Greece (read reviews) , will give you full attention and care. We will do a shortstop for food for 30 min to relax from the trip. Choose one dish and a Greek salad from our 10 flavors (vegetarian plate also available). We've reserved the best local restaurant , fully air-conditioned. You can choose to include lunch in the package during your booking. Continue with an amazing 4 hours Meteora tour, see all 6 monasteries and visit inside the 3 most popular of them. Plenty of photo opportunity stops and secret places that only locals know will make your tour a lifetime experience. Finally, will be transferred back to Kalabaka to travel back for Athens. You will arrive in Athens around 22:30.

  • Landscapes are far above organizational aspects

    It's a very long bus ride. Landscapes and monasteries are worth it. The best: the guide (Rula) in Spanish and the landscapes. Worst part: duration of the trip, breakfast in the morning that is made at the hours of travel (very expensive), and lunch, without dessert, having to pay for the drink and ranch. Drivers are unfriendly or very poorly educated. At the beginning of the journey there are several buses and there is no one from the operator to guide you, only drivers who demonstrate little education, understanding or desire to work. Anyway, it is to see something very unique, spectacular, but in which they invest 8 hours of travel and not receive the proper attention for what is paid.

    Meteora and the monasteries are a marvelous site to see. Pictures can only reveal so much. In my opinion, the experience is akin to visiting the Grand Canyon. You have to see it for yourself. My only complaint is the cafeteria-style lunch & cash-grab dinner. Not only were they both rushed experiences but the staff at the dinner venue (which is also the first restroom stop) are down right rude! It baffles me that staff find it acceptable to be disrespectful to people who are patronizing their establishment. Without customers, the business would not exist! I really hope they get this feedback and reflect on how they treat customers. I did, however, refuse to allow their treatment ruin my wonderful day in Meteora!

    Very long bus ride but comfy & wifi. With a pit-stop up & back. Clements our tour guide who met us at Meteora is considerate, passionate & knowledgeable all things caves & monasteries! Recommend the 2-course lunch.

    Although a long ride from Athens approx 4hrs each way it is a once in a lifetime experience. The lunch provided was excellent and very filling .

    First I would say that it was a unique experience to see the monasteries perched on mountain tops. My wife enjoyed entering but as stated there are over 100-200 steps each way to enter. For VIATOR: 1. Your information should say long pants are required for men not refer to knee length pants. 2. The guide should enter the monasteries not just point us in the direction of the entrance. 3. Our guide did not know of any included panoramic monastery map handout per your documentation
