Corinth Canal
The Corinth Canal connects the Gulf of Corinth in the Ionian Sea with the Saronic Gulf in the Aegean Sea. It cuts through the narrow Isthmus of Corinth and separates the Peloponnese from the Greek mainland, arguably making the peninsula an island. The canal was dug through the isthmus at sea level and has no locks. It is 6.4 kilometres (4 mi) in length and only 21.4 metres (70 ft) wide at its base, making it impassable for many modern ships. From high up, you can enjoy the best view of Corinth's isthmus and admire the steep limestone walls while you observe the vessels below you navigate their way through the canal.
Mycenae
The fortified citadel of ancient Mycenae, the seat of the mythical and mighty King Agamemnon. An impressive and well-preserved site, the city of Mycenae gave its name to an entire civilization. Admire sites such as the Tomb of Clytemnestra, the infamous Lion’s Gate, the Cyclopean walls and learn of their blood-stained past. In the second millennium BC, Mycenae was one of the major centres of Greek civilization, a military stronghold which dominated much of southern Greece, Crete, the Cyclades and parts of southwest Anatolia. The period of Greek history from about 1600 BC to about 1100 BC is called Mycenaean in reference to Mycenae. At its peak in 1350 BC, the citadel and lower town had a population of 30,000 and an area of 32 hectares.

Excellent tour. The stops were interesting and the guide did an excellent job describing the places and pacing the tour so we had time to do things we wanted to do at our pace. He was very personable, professional and made it an enjoyable day.

Our guide Spiros was very prompt, professional and a book of knowledge on anything to do with Greece; especially it's history! We had a time frame as we had to be back on board our cruise ship, so we cut out a few stops (we have one member of our parry that has some limited walking restrictions and Spiros was very considerate of that). He recommended a fabulous are of Nafplio to have lunch and it was spectacular!!! If you are ever in Athens and in need of a private knowledge driver/guide SPIROS is you man!! Last picture is us with Spiros

We had a wonderful day, in spite of rain, visiting Mycenae, Epidaurus, and Napflio with Notis as our driver and guide. We made a stop at the Corinth Canal on the way to Mycenae. Notis was very friendly and accommodating. He shared so much information about Greece - the area and sites we saw, the local history, culture, and daily life in the area we were visiting, as well as Greece, in general. He allowed us adequate time to visit the ruins at both Mycenae and Epidaurus, which were amazing, and thankfully the rain stopped for these explorations. We finished the day at a lovely restaurant in Napflio, enjoyed a wonderful lunch of pasta and langostinos, and shared an exceptional Greek wine. We were transiting from one hotel to another at the end of our trip. Notis picked us up promptly at one hotel in the morning, and delivered us safe and sound to our airport hotel in the evening. We couldn't have asked for a better guide and driver. The day was one of the highlights of our trip to Greece.

We had a wonderful time on this day tour! Our guide/driver was Yiannis and he was highly experienced and made it a great day. It was so nice to be on a private tour where our needs were really taken into account. Yiannis was very responsive and made sure we were comfortable the entire ride, providing us with water bottles and having great conversation. He was highly knowledgeable about the history, which we really enjoyed hearing about! We especially loved our time in Nafplio and the restaurant that was picked for us to eat at. It was great to have that paid in advance as well. Overall it was a great day and we highly recommend it to others who are in Athens without a rental car!
