Established in 1829 & in a newly renovated Neoclassic building, this is the pre-eminent Archaeological Museum in Greece which houses the pick of Greece’s Archaeological treasures uncovered over the past centuries. Consequently, you will be treated to many of the most unique and amazing masterpieces ever produced. Permanent displays include bronzes such as the famous charioteer, the Antikythera mechanism and first working computer produced by the ancient Greeks 1000 years before anything similar, the Mycenean gold & jewellery horde from the tombs of Agamemnon in the citadel in Mycenae, and countless others. Our expert guides are fully Licenced Official Archaeological guides and recognized experienced Experts who will take you through all these highlights. They are also wonderful communicators & will naturally adapt things to any level of knowledge so if you are a visiting History Professor or just want the photo highlights, your tour will flow accordingly.

5.00Natalie is an outstanding tour guide. She read the group, set an agenda, and took us directly to the museum highlights of interest to our group. Her commentary was informative and entertaining. She was extremely knowledgeable about the history, and made the most of our limited time.

3.00The tour was offered by the CAM group guide. 40 euros person. The truth is that admission costs only 12 and for older people only 6 euros. It’s not worth hiring when only with the help of audio guides can you do it. The museum is very worth a visit.

5.00We really enjoyed this chronological tour of the museum with our guide! I feel badly that I can’t remember her name but she was absolutely wonderful. We had ample time to really experience what were the highlights of the museum and more afterwards if we wanted to. Really a must-see in Athens.
