In order to help preserve the French Quarter from vehicular traffic, it is requested that you please walk, if possible, to the convenient tour departure point - just a short stroll from most downtown hotels.

Alternate Routes: Due to uneven and narrow paths, alternate routes may be necessary for guests traveling in wheelchairs.
Guests using a wheelchair at Oak Alley Plantation will have access to the gift shop, restrooms, and museum via a ramp. The plantation grounds are accessible; however, there are narrow and uneven dirt paths. The main house tour is not accessible to guest traveling in wheelchairs and is not required to be modified as it is a historic home; however, the basement is accessible. Guests would be able to view the slave quarters, but would not have access to enter.
Infant rates apply provided they do not occupy a seat.

5.00Loved it! The plantation is beautiful. The tour interesting, the guides helpful, the bus comfortable and the restrooms clean! It does take an hour and half to get there so be prepared for that.

3.00Scheduled tour was cancelled. Rescheduled tour was lacking — driver not fully engaged with necessary information—little to no help in explaining or pointing things out along the route. Not enough time to fully see everything at Oak Alley Plantation.

5.00We have done a plantation tour in the Caribbean that also harvested sugar canes and offered more information about the slaves that operated the plantation. This tour focuses on the actual plantation property and the families that owned the property. You have time before and after to tour the beautiful grounds. There is a video that shows the history of harvesting sugar canes.

5.00Very interesting. Steven was a good tour guide. Views are beautiful and it’s so peaceful there. The slave housing and information was disturbing and well presented. Lived the gift shop! They were very friendly and helpful.

5.00Fact filled bus ride and tour of a plantation. Oak Alley is heart breaking and breath taking at the same time. They do a good job pointing out the suffering that made the wealth possible.

2.00My daughter and I were disappointed in this tour experience. The coach driver and transportation were excellent. Unfortunately, we had almost 3 hours of driving and less than 2 hours at Oak Alley. We had to rush through the slave quarter in order to get some quick food and be on time for our main house timed ticket. Once inside the house we had a huge group. It was tough to see things in the small, crowded rooms. Then we had to leave our tour early to get back to the coach in time for departure. We wouldn’t recommend this experience.

5.00This is a great history lesson. For those who travel to more than one antebellum plantation, it is fascinating to see how different each one is and how uniquely each one was run. They also have a nice gift shop.
