Awesome to see, but it's a one-time thing. The drive there is about an hour and it was a bit long for my hubby lol. The tour guides made was a bit difficult to understand.

Overall, an excellent tour. Robert, our bus driver and docent, was knowledgeable. I truly enjoyed his commentary on the history of New Orleans and the River Road sugar plantations. The Oak Alley facility was wonderful. The tour did an excellent job of showing the good, the bad, and the ugly of that time in history.

It was interesting finding out about how the Plantation was run and the difficulties they had to survive. It was sad in regards to the slave workforce, how they had to live and what they had to endure. The big house was beautiful even though you were not allowed to take pictures inside it still was amazing seeing the beautiful woodwork and the antiques.

Not enough time at plantation to walk around. Food options were too limited for the time of day that included the tour

Overall, this was a good tour! The oak trees were absolutely beautiful, and we did learn some interesting history along the way. We took the “Big House” tour, which lasted about 45 minutes and focused mainly on one of the plantation homes. Our guide was very knowledgeable and engaging, but the tour centered mostly on the plantation owners rather than the enslaved people who lived and worked there. I would’ve loved to hear more about that part of the history. That said, it was still a worthwhile experience — and I have to give special mention to our Gray Line bus driver, who was fantastic! She shared great historical insights on the drive over and really added to the overall experience.
