Experience a 2-hour tour of the ancient ruins of Pompeii led by a professional archaeologist guide and skip the line tickets included in a small group of maximum 20 people.
Walk through the ruins and explore this ancient city, buried by Vesuvius in 79 AD. Learn about the history of the town and how the Romans lived and see all the most important public buildings and private houses.
Visit the Western part of the town. You will see the Marina Gate, the Basilica, the Forum, the baths, the Lupanar (brothel), the bakery, the house of Faun, the Termopolium, the main street, the Plaster Casts of the dead's, and the Theaters.
The tour is available in English, Italian, French, Spanish, Portuguese and German and starts at the main entrance of Pompeii Ruins, called Porta Marina Superiore.

5.00Our guide was an archeologist and provided us a tour full of interesting historical info. Sure, we could have wandered around on our own, but having someone explain the interesting components of the village & housing design was more interesting.

5.00Our guide was very experienced and knowledgeable. After this experience, I am SO GLAD that I did not venture off on my own - you could see all the other tourists who did not have guides had no idea where to start or where to go or what to do. There is so much to see and do that 2 hours is not realistic to get it all, but this is not the guide's fault of course. It's a good launch point and our guide made sure we saw all the most important attractions first, and also recommended other places to see once the tour was over.

2.00Had to pay close attention to where my feet landed as roads are uneven and lost my group. Had to look at all groups while searching for my group, it took a while. Finally found my group but missed stuff. Guide was very nice but the tour ran long since he spoke repetitively. Had to leave before end and missed sights I really wanted to see. Guide's simple and incomplete directions to get out of ruins caused me to get lost trying to leave making me late for reserved transportation.
