Fantastic! Cassie was brilliant. As a native English speaker she kept it interesting and relatable. I feel we learned so much. The Museum itself is a must see. So many truly captivating works. The restaurant and company was excellent. Definitely the highlight of our Madrid experience.

The meeting place was easy to find and our guide Cassie was excellent; welcoming, knowledgeable about art, knows Madrid well, she is personable and adds a humour not often found in tour guides. Our walk through Prado provided an interesting look at Spanish history, paintings by Valáquez, Goya and a first up, fantastic suprise was Heironymous Bosch triptych Garden of Earthly Delights'! A painting I love and didn't ever believe I'd see; just WOW! The time at the museum was enough to whet the appetite to return but not too long to overwhelm. We then walked to lunch; a beautiful day and the walk was not arduous with Cassie pointing out different sights of interest. Lunch at Botin was wonderful; the restaurant itself is history having been serving food for 300 years. It is a beautiful place but given its age be aware the stairs are many and not very wide. Where we were seated on the 3rd floor, the tables are for larger parties and the area is overcrowded. You are seated very tightly and even if you have the greatest of manners and keep your elbows to your sides you will not be able to help connecting with your neighbours at some point during the meal. The food was well done, the suckling pig was tender and juicy but the dessert, a mix between a cheesecake and creme brulee, was to-die-for and I did find room for it! All up a really interesting and fun way to spend 5 or 6 hours in Madrid.

This is a great way to see some of the Prado and have lunch at Boutin! Our guide, Rosita, was knowledgeable and friendly and that made for a really nice experience. We unfortunately got stuck in the rain walking from the museum to the restaurant but Rosita stayed upbeat and even shared her umbrella with me. Boutin was delish and this was a good way to get around the 2 month reservation issue. Would recommend this tour!
