You’ll start by exploring fresh local ingredients and preparing traditional northern All dishes are cooked from scratch, following family recipes passed down through generations. After cooking, sit down for a full farm-to-table lunch, paired with homemade Vinho Verde from our own vines and a selection of Portuguese wines. Guests can arrive by train from São Bento or Campanhã to Caniços, and we arrange a taxi to bring you to the farm (5 minutes away). Because this is a fully private experience, you enjoy personalized attention, flexibility, and a relaxed environment — ideal for couples, groups of friends, families.

Amazing private experience where you get to learn all about Portuguese cuisine and helpful cooking tips. The farm is absolutely stunning and they were wonderful hosts making us feel welcomed and at gone immediately.

I booked a 4 hour cooking class in Portugal to celebrate my wife’s birthday. Chef Heitor and his staff Rosa and Joao couldn’t have made the experience any better. The food was absolutely amazing. We also helped prepare and cook the dinner and dessert. Heitor also served us his own brand of wine from his vineyard. Before dinner we were treated to a tour of the farm. Chef Heitor has 2 new forever friends. We couldn’t thank him enough.

A friend and I traveled to the Portuguese country side to tour a very old farm and enjoy a cooking class of classic Portuguese foods with the owner chef Heiter. The chef and his assistant were very welcoming and they encouraged us to help in the preparation of the meal. We prepared four separate dishes as well as dessert. The meal was served in the beautifully restored dining room of the farmhouse in front of a warm fire. We enjoyed several delicious wines along with our meal that were made from the grapes in the vineyard. Chef Heiter is warm and charming. The pride he has for his family estate and his cooking is very evident. We left that evening feeling like we had dined with good friends.

Heitor welcomes us into his home on a farm 30 minutes outside Porto, and with his team (Joāo and Rose) provided a truly memorable experience for us. He taught us how to cook bacalau fritters, pan fried fresh sardines, an amazing fish stew, braised chicken baked over basmati rice, and an almost custardy orange rolled cake. He used many ingredients from his own property, and everything was absolutely delicious.

My wife and I loved this experience! We loved learning how to cook 4 different traditional Portuguese recipes and then savoring each in Heitor's lovely home! Would highly recommend this experience if you're looking to get out of the city and the traditional tourist experience.

It was such a warming atmosphere with a very delicious dishes on the table. We learned how to cook a traditional pork dish and ate eggs from the farm and amazing Portuguese wine. The bread was also homemade and I did not forget the lovely smell and the taste deeped in homemade olive oil. The Chef was the cherry on top, a great host and very experienced in French cuisine alongside Portuguese. We had a glimpse blast. I would definetly recommend it.

Fantastic experience, very typical location and surrounded by nature. We chose the farm, reachable by 30 min taxi but it is absolutely worth it. I recommend it to anyone who wants to explore Portuguese culture starting from the kitchen. Chef Ettore is very nice and helpful and knows all the secrets of local cuisine. 10+!!

Beautiful farm-to-table experience. A lovely suprise in our trip with Portuguese flavors we’ll never forget. The meal was prepared with ingredients grown on the farm, the kitchen well apointed and we loooved the old barn-house converted into a modern challet-style loft!

The old farm provided an unforgettable experience! The rustic and welcoming environment was the perfect setting to taste traditional Portuguese dishes, prepared with authenticity and dedication. Each flap was a true tribute to local gastronomy, and the wines of the Douro harmonized in perfection, elevating the experience even further. The chef Heitor de Melo is tireless and the charming atmosphere made the visit absolutely fantastic.
