Douro Valley's temperature is very high in the summer and cold in the winter. Thus, light clothes in summer and warm clothes in the winter are recommended;
Weather Note: All of our activities happen in covered and protected spaces - we guarantee a safe and comfortable tour despite any weather conditions.
Not recommended for children - if you are bringing children, please inform us in advance, as car seating is mandatory by Portuguese law.
You can also be picked up from a private address other than hotels in Porto downtown area/city center only (Vila Nova de Gaia and Matosinhos cities are outside pick-up limits).
If your address is outside pick-up limits or in an area of difficult access (examples: pedestrian street/narrow street/place with very elevated traffic volume) we will set a meeting point a few minutes away so that you can board our van.
NOTE TO TRAVEL AGENCIES: While we understand that your office may be closed when we send our confirmations due to different timezones if you do not provide the client's direct contact number/email, you are responsible for contacting the client at the time we send the pick-up details (day before the tour takes place, by the end of the day, UNTIL 23:00 PM, PORTUGAL TIME) - Travel Agencies assume responsibility if the client does not show up due to the lack of communication between them.

Start the tour at your hotel or accommodation in Porto Downtown. Note: your address needs to be provided at booking or a few days before the tour takes place or a meeting point will be set. - PICK-UP IS EXCLUSIVE TO THE PORTO DOWNTOWN AREA. Whenever possible we stop at the city of Peso da Régua, an historical city of the Douro Valley associated with the commerce of wine. Here we provide our guests a brief explanation about the city and allow some free time for a coffee and pictures.

5.00This is a must do when in Porto. Our guide, Pedro was amazing. The drive from Porto to Duoro was about an hour and a half long. Pedro is a excellent driver. I felt very comfortable and safe. Pedro talked the entire drive. His knowledge of the area and tour were great. He voice and interaction with his passengers was fun and we never got bored. Pedro made this tour enriched and so enjoyable. I highly recommend this tour and hopefully you will be lucky as us and get Pedro as your guide.

5.00This trip was a great way to experience the Douro Valley. The two chosen wineries highlighted both Port wine and the Douro dry wines. The lunch was typical Portuguese food and wine, while the boat trip showed the beautiful terrain of the valley. Our guide Luis very good at explaining and answering questions about the wines and the Douro Valley. Would highly recommend this trip to appreciate the Douro Valley.
An absolute must!!!! The only way to see the Douro Valley.

5.00Luis was our guide for our 8 hour day and he was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic, and a fantastic driver. There were four couples from different parts of the US and ended up being a perfect group. Luis spoke perfect English, and he was easy to understand and was concerned about our needs the whole day. We highly recommend this on so many levels. It was informative, tasty, fun, and beyond gorgeous.

The views of the Douro Valley were absolutely picturesque, and our tour guide, Jose Pedro was wonderful – attentive, knowledgeable, and made sure we were picked up and dropped off safely. On top of that, I was really lucky to have such great tour mates. I’m truly grateful for the whole experience, thank you my tour guide !

5.00Amazing tour! If you’re looking at doing this tour, do it! And if you aren’t looking at this tour, you’re doing something wrong! We picked this based on the tour size, which was perfect and as advertised. 7 people, which made it a more intimate and meaningful experience. We went to smaller vineyards, and spent the perfect amount of time at them. But the best part, by far, was our guide Pedro. He was so knowledgeable, with perfect tour guide charisma. He started with a great attitude by being accommodating and understanding when we went to the wrong starting point (completely our own fault), and was easy to connect with! While driving through the Douro Valley, Pedro was known about town, chatting the locals up, and it really felt like being taken on a tour by the mayor! There wasn’t a question he couldn’t answer! This tour is best for people that really want to connect and learn. I had high expectations of the tour, and this experience still exceeded them. Thank you Pedro for giving us a true lifetime memory ❤️

5.00Without a doubt, the best experience I’ve ever had in taking a tour. Pedro was a fantastic guide, the wines and meal were delicious, and the group of new friends I made after our day is something I will never forgot. It was great to get to experience both port wine, as well as more standard table wine. The weather had been extremely overcast but it ended up clearing up before our cruise, which was great. All in all, the experience was great and one I would recommend to anyone that is visiting Porto. I am so thankful to Pedro for creating such a great experience for all of us, even as a solo traveler!

5.00Ivo was truly spectacular! He was a wealth of information on Portugal, from history of the Douro valley, to how wine and port are made, to current events, Portuguese culture, foods, and was such a pleasure to talk to. The sights of the valley were incredible, the small family owed wine business was gorgeous and so tasty (the olive oil was some of the best I’ve ever had!), the river cruise was relaxing, and the day was just perfect. We really enjoyed the whole trip!
