  Excellent tour! Our guide Victor very knowledgeable of Mayan history and culture. He also shared his knowledge of native plants. We appreciated travelling to the less visited ruins without the large crowds.

  The Ruta Puuc has beautifully decorated Mayan sites. Our guide, Victor, was a wealth of knowledge and shared that knowledge with enthusiasm and humour. Because it was a small tour, Victor could spend more time on things of interest to us and we could go at our own pace. Each of the sites is unique and well worth seeing. • This is far better than Chichen Itza

  This is THE way to see ancient ruins. Forget about the insane crowds at Chichen Itza and experience the Puuc Route like you owned the place. Go in January and the weather is beautiful with virtually no bugs. Our guide Victor was great. We almost had the place to ourselves and this isn’t that unusual. Plenty of opportunities for good pictures without hundreds os touristas standing in your way.

  Can't get enough ancient Mayan archaeology? Hate crowds? Spend the day out of Merida touring all four major sites along the Routa Pu'uc: Uxmal, K'abah, Sayil, and Labna. These sites feature some of the most amazing and elaborate architecture anywhere in the realm of the ancient Mayans! Sites in the Pu'uc style, as archaeologists call it, became more important following the decline of the Classic Period sites to the south around AD800. Centered on Uxmal, a network of sites the developed in the Pu'uc hills connected to each other by a network of 'white roads,' called "sacbes" ... and you get to visit the main sites on this tour. Uxmal is the largest, rivalling Chichen Itza, but without the crushing crowds. K'abah, is best known for its large temple covered with sculptural 'masks' commonly interpreted to be Cha'ac, the 'rain god.' Sayil has is richly-decorated 'palace,' and well-preserved sacbes, and some nice stelae monuments, some of which are erotic. And Labna, besides having its own elaborate 'palace,' also has a grand archway, famously illustrated by the first explorers in the mid-1800s. We selected this tour in particular, because IT WAS THE ONLY TOUR TO VISIT ALL FOUR SITES! ... but visiting four sites in one day is a great way to work-up an appetite, so Claudia, our friendly and knowledgeable guide, took us for a hearty and delicious Yucatecan lunch to end our trip.

  

  

  

  

  

  

  

  

  

  

  

• Best way to see the Magnificent Maya Ruins

  With studies in archaeology and hospitality, Claudia embodies the ideal tour guide for the Yucatán. She’s terrific: extremely knowledgeable, very pleasant and practical. Before we even met, she provided excellent advice via WhatsApp on what to bring. On the ride to Uxmal we learned a lot about Mexico, Mérida and the Mayas. We arrived at Uxmal well before the crowds, and by the time we left there was a long line trying to get in. Claudia, guided us and pointed important details, placing everything in context. We then visited three other sites, which helped us get a sense of relations between cities, evolving stiles and a better understanding of the Maya culture. We capped the day at a roadside restaurant, where we had a typical Yucatán meal. We expected a small group, but were surprised that my wife and I had Claudia all to ourselves. We had read a couple of books about the Maya before this trip, but we learned so much more with Claudia. We had been looking forward to this excursion, and all our expectations were surpassed because of Claudia.

  Each of the four Mayan sites are incredible must-sees. Guide was knowledgeable and our driver was helpful. Seeing Uxmal by itself is not enough!

  We had an amazing time on the Puuc Route. Our guide Victor was incredibly knowledgeable and insightful about each location and was proud to share the history of the Mayan culture and the Puuc Route. The stops were well paced and we never felt rushed. Definitely recommend this tour if you want an intimate, unforgettable experience.

  We had a wonderful day discovering the Puuc Route. Our guide Victor was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. He picked us up at 7:00 o’clock in morning from our house and we returned by around 5:00 pm. The sites we visited were fantastic and with the explanations from Victor we learned so much more about the Mayan culture. I highly recommend this trip.

  This tour was the highlight of our trip to the Yucatan. Victor was so knowledgeable and a fantastic tour guide from start to finish, picking us up at our hotel and clearly communicating with us the day before. Each of the four ruins we saw were breathtaking, and we got to wander through the jungle in off the beaten track locations, learning about the symbolism and environment from our incredible guide. There was also an outstanding 3 course meal at the end.
