• Last minute cancellation by the company - avoid!!!

  Arctic GM cancelled this the evening before the experience. They had communicated with me around 3.30pm that they had noted our winter overall sizes etc. By 5.37pm the same evening the experience was cancelled. I had this booked since March 2025 and it was supposed to be the highlight of our trip. It was such a late cancellation I could not book a similar experience with another company as they were all booked up. Arctic GM cited cold weather conditions as the cancellation reason. It was an exceptionally cold week (last week) even by Rovaniemi standards but other experiences seem to have gone ahead around the same time judging by reviews and the temperatures have not really changed all week. Another tour operator told me that was an unusual reason for the cancellation. Communication with the company had been great throughout the booking up until the day after cancellation when I asked them if they could recommend anything else or even a farm visit to see huskies as I had three really disappointed children. I was coldly told I would receive a refund within 10-15 business days and I can contact local tour operators! The only reason I can surmise is the price has gone up considerably since we booked in March and the company perhaps double booked and would rather take more money over who booked first!

  They cancelled the night before. Couldn't find another ride. Came all the way from Australia to do the huskies. Will not be recommending this to anyone

  The husky ride was THE experience of our holiday. We received a detailed introduction , clear instructions during the ride and at the end we could thank the dogs with petting sessions. A really great experience!

  

• Cancelled with no explanation or apology

  We had booked out experience a month in advance as the highlight of our visit. The afternoon before our activity we received an email which stated our activity was cancelled. There was no reason or apology given. When I tried to rebook I was told they were fully booked for the remainder of our visit. Very disapppointed!

  Hi, we would like to say that everything was absolutely perfect. We had a wonderful guide with Rui and we couldn’t have asked for better. He picked us up on time, was very kind and friendly, speaks many languages, and took excellent care of us until the very end when he brought us back. During the husky sledding experience we had a lot of fun, received a very good introduction, and afterwards learned a lot about the dogs. Overall, it was an amazing experience. Many thanks, especially to Rui 👍👏🤩

  

• Underwhelming.

  Sadly this tour was way over priced for the 20 minutes on the sled. Arctic GM themselves were good. They provided warm suits, were timely, and nice people. Communication at the front end was a little difficult, but we eventually sorted that out. But you spend about an hour and a half in the car for a 20 minute husky drive and a hotdog, and then an hour and a half back; and the actual husky destination was a little rough. My understanding is most husky drives are short, so maybe do one closer or cheaper for the same experience, and if Arctic GM do one as such, I’d still consider booking with them. And yes make sure your shoe and glove wear are as warm as can be, no matter who you do it with, or it will make the experience harder.

  Unfortunately our tour was cancelled due to the weather, which I understand. However we were not informed by viator and were left very disappointed turning up at the meeting point expecting to go. Next time I would book with the tour operator directly.

• Excellent experience from pickup to drop off

  Great communication from the time of booking, right up until we left for the trip and someone to contact if anything went wrong. Small personalized feeling to the whole thing. We were picked up at the Santa village, driven about an hour away in a top of the range vehicle, we'd previously given sizes for the snow suits, so they were brought for us. We were given a short demonstration on how to drive the sled and guided around a lovely scenic spot. We then went back, got to rub the dogs and got a kennel tour, before an open fire BBQ. Nothing was rushed and everything felt on our own time. Our guide Sanija couldn't have been any better and even dropped us back to our accommodation afterwards. I had thought the excursion seemed a bit expensive for the 3 of us, but afterwards definitely felt it was worth it. The following day I had a tour booked with a different larger operator and the experience couldn't have been more different. I wish I had booked both tours with Arctic GM Experiences. I'll definitely pass their details on to friends.

  Mathias did an amazing job as our tour guide. The husky ride was incredible and fun. The whole family had a great time. :))
