Discover the most famous monument in which Seville was created around, the Cathedral of Seville.

The Cathedral has been the beating heart of Seville since its creation as a mosque in 1198. After Seville fell under Christian rule, the decision was made to create a Cathedral in the place of the mosque that would show off seville’s prosperous wealth. Legend has it that the original design committee wanted the outside world to think they were “mad” for attempting this daunting project.

Built in 1507 the Cathedral remains the largest Gothic style Cathedral in the world! Today the famous Giralda bell tower, which lower portion remains from the original 1198 mosque, rises powerfully about the city skyline.

Disappointing and Inaccessible Experience

We booked the “Seville Cathedral Tour including tickets and skip the line entry” hoping for a smooth and informative visit—but the experience was anything but. This tour is not suitable for people with mobility challenges or anyone who may need a moment to keep up with the group. The meeting point is a chaotic side street packed with multiple tour groups. When we finally located our guide, Alejandro, we were given audio headsets but no clear instructions or check-in process. Unlike other tours that take a headcount or ensure everyone is present, Alejandro took off without confirming if the group was together. I walk with a mobility aid, and he didn’t wait or even look back—he lost us within five minutes. By the time we reached the cathedral, we were no longer with the group and were denied entry. The staff at the cathedral were unhelpful, despite us clearly being on the tour. Ultimately, we had to walk all the way back to the tourist office to request a refund. This was incredibly disappointing, as we had been looking forward to seeing the cathedral, which was nearly sold out. We missed the entire experience due to poor organization and a complete lack of consideration for accessibility. I would not recommend this tour to anyone, especially those with mobility needs.

Antonio was a brilliant guide. Great English - so knowledgeable on history . Friendly ; polite and helpful . Really found it interesting and he was an inspirational guide

Super busy but the guide pointed out the key areas, just all felt a bit rushed but you can stay in the Cathedral after the tour...

Easy to book the tour through Viator. Updates received reminding me of our upcoming tour I was able to locate the meeting point and meet the guide by starting off in the group to walk to the cathedral together. This was far easier than trying to find the guide outside of the cathedral where quite a few tours start. The guide we had, Manvela , was very informative and kept a good pace for everyone to enjoy the surroundings aswell as learning about the history. The Cathedral is beautiful inside and out. We also went up the tower and found this far easier than expected, as you walked up 35 ramps then only 1 stairway. I admit I had a few stops along the way but this was not a problem as there are window areas where you can sit and admire the view outside. Overall a brilliant start to our holiday and would highly recommend.
