Discover the most famous monument in which Seville was created around, the Cathedral of Seville.
The Cathedral has been the beating heart of Seville since its creation as a mosque in 1198. After Seville fell under Christian rule, the decision was made to create a Cathedral in the place of the mosque that would show off seville’s prosperous wealth. Legend has it that the original design committee wanted the outside world to think they were “mad” for attempting this daunting project.
Built in 1507 the Cathedral remains the largest Gothic style Cathedral in the world! Today the famous Giralda bell tower, which lower portion remains from the original 1198 mosque, rises powerfully about the city skyline.

5.00Omg!! Our tour guide, unfortunately I cannot remember his name, was AMAZING!! He was so, so knowledgeable and fun to listen to about the history of the Cathedral. Better than sitting in a history class. He was very attentive to all his group members and was really worried when a couple wasn't showing up. He ensured we continued the presentation however, he kept an eye on getting the couple back to our group. I am including a photo of him as I can't remember his name.

5.00A good visit that gave sufficient information and insight to be satisfied without being overwhelmed with information. Every trip on Seville has to contain mush of the same history to put a location in context and this was the same but it did only focus on that which related to the cathedral which is a good thing. Our guide Karlos was very knowledgeable and answered many random questions from the group with detail and confidence. He kept us moving giving information both as we walked and went past things as well as stopping to go into more detail at the main architectural points and most significant artefacts. A little time is given to go up the bell tower which is mostly a series of ramps rather than all steps. I would recommend this trip, guide and tour company.

5.00We had a great time! Nieves was our guide and she did an outstanding job guiding us through the different parts of the cathedral. She took us to different sections and made sure we stayed together as a group. She gave us time to climb to the top of the Giralda tower - it wasn’t that bad of a climb and the views were amazing! Nieves was excellent!
