5.00The Shanghai Culinary Night Walking Tour is one of the best ways (in my opinion) to experience authentic Shanghai cuisine. Within that few hours, we enjoyed a wonderful mix of legendary local eateries, modern icons like the Starbucks Roastery, and everything in between. The food was outstanding, and our guide, Jenny, made the entire evening seamless and enjoyable with her attentive and friendly service. It was the perfect blend of adventure, culture, and incredible flavours. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Shanghai. An experience we would happily repeat on our next visit.

5.00As a solo traveller, the Shanghai Culinary Night Walking Tour was hands down one of my favourite experiences in the city. It was the perfect way to dive into authentic Shanghai cuisine while also enjoying great company along the way. In just a few hours, I discovered legendary local eateries, modern icons like the Starbucks Roastery, and plenty of hidden gems in between. Our guide (Alice) made the entire evening feel effortless and welcoming. The tour offered a rare balance between adventure, culture, and amazing food. I never once felt awkward or rushed although I was on my own. I’d absolutely do this again on my next visit to Shanghai and highly recommend it to anyone travelling solo or otherwise.

5.00Visiting as a couple, the Monster Day Tours Night Food Tour turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. It was far more than just eating it felt like a journey through Shanghai’s culinary soul. We loved how the route took us from charming old Shikumen lanes to the modern buzz of the Starbucks Roastery, seamlessly telling the story of how the city has evolved. Every stop was thoughtfully chosen, and each dish from comforting street-food classics to regional specialties was clearly explained, making the experience both delicious and meaningful. Our guide Sophia was fantastic: warm, knowledgeable, and genuinely attentive. She made sure everyone felt included and comfortable, and her passion really brought the tour to life. This tour didn’t just feed us; it helped us understand Shanghai’s food culture on a deeper level. A truly memorable experience and absolutely one we’d recommend to other couples visiting the city.

The route was thoughtfully put together, mixing iconic spots with quieter historic areas and very local food stops, which helped everything make sense rather than feel overwhelming. What I really appreciated was how the tour showed different sides of the city in one evening — old and new, local and international — without it feeling rushed. The food was varied and genuinely enjoyable, and I tried dishes I probably wouldn’t have ordered on my own. Our guide was engaging, clear, and made the whole experience relaxed and fun.
