This small group glacier hike takes place on Falljökull, one of the outlets of the mighty Vatnajökull - Europe's largest glacier. Lead by a certified glacier guide, explore all that this living glacier has to offer. Enjoy the panoramic view of an ever-changing landscape while learning about Iceland's frozen giants. Our 4x4 bus takes you from Skaftafell right to the edge of the glacier, so we maximize time on the ice. This hike is perfect families, first-time explorers, or returning adventurers looking for an accessible and safe glacier adventure.

Suitable for all physical fitness levels
This tour is rated as easy, but guests should be prepared to walk about ~3km (1.8 miles) total over uneven terrain.
Minimum age of 8, and minimum shoe size of EUR 35.
Sturdy hiking boots with ankle support are mandatory for this adventure. Rentals are available for a fee if required.
Please note that our specialized glacier crampons are only available for shoe sizes 35-50 EU. Those with a shoe size beyond these are unfortunately unable to participate.

5.00Did a glacier tour with Jan, our guide. He was full of knowledge and a great laugh. Making sure we all stayed safe and had a good time. Also took some great photos of everyone and made sure everyone had a great experience. Would highly recommend to anyone thinking of doing it.

5.00We had such an amazing time on this excursion!! I went with my parents, who are older and not quite as agile as they used to be, but they did great! Our guide, Jan, was fantastic!! He really knew a lot and was able to educate us on so much stuff and had some fun stories too! He was also super helpful and patient with my mom when she needed extra help. This is a must do activity while in Iceland!!!

5.00This was an awesome tour. First time glacier trip but experienced hikers. Ice cave, crevasses, science, history, and laughs. Recommend the small group. Travelled at a good pace and Christian went above and beyond to make sure everyone had a safe and enjoyable trip!

5.00The glacier hike was absolutely stunning! Such a wonderful and unique experience. Sara our guide was very friendly, knowledgeable, and coordinated beautiful photo opportunities in the crevasses throughout the hike. It was such a special experience, highly recommend it!

5.00Wow! What an awesome day for me, my mother and my sister. All of the guides and staff were incredibly helpful and knowledgable, but we especially appreciated the care and attention from our guide Guillaume. There were a wide range of athletic abilities and he made sure to tend to everyone's needs. I hope to be back for the ice climbing!

5.00Our guide Ivo was wonderful. He was knowledgeable, funny and engaging. He was great with our two children, 12 & 8. He made them feel very special and important during the hike. Ivo was great with the rest of the group as well. He made sure everyone, of all skill levels, had a great experience on the glacier. Ivo took wonderful photographs of our family as well. My favorite part was doing the Viking Pushup to drink water from the glacier. When we go back to Iceland we will request our tours be with Ivo.
