At Aurora In Alaska™, our exclusive SkyChase™ Northern Lights Experience uses our Lights-for-Life™ Formula to track weather, clouds, and solar activity in real time to take you to the clearest skies, at the best time.

Travel in a heated, winterized Mercedes Sprinter van, relax at our mobile Aurora lodge, enjoy a twilight campfire meal, and sip drinks from our Borealis Brew Bar. Receive unlimited Aurora portraits from our pro photographers, plus night-lapse video and tripod rentals.

We’re the only tour with an Aurora Guarantee: If no Aurora is visible to the eye or camera on a “guaranteed night,” you get a 50% refund or free rebooking.

Disclaimer: A guaranteed night is based on real-time conditions. If any Aurora is visible by eye or camera, the night is considered fulfilled.

Murphy Dome

Murphy Dome is one of the highest accessible points in the Fairbanks area and occasionally used on clear-sky nights for its panoramic views and low light pollution. It’s a prime example of the remote high-elevation locations our team accesses while chasing the Aurora.

    Fabulous! This group uses technology and forecasts to find the best spots and get you on the aurora. They have a nice setup with a camp trailer, solo stoves, and camping chairs. You roast reindeer sausages and make smores, and they have delicious coffee and hot drinks available too. We had almost lost hope and then the lights showed up in all their glory almost exactly when their data predicted it would! It was so exciting and they set their cameras for the best exposures and take pictures that they share with you about a week after. Top notch - don’t miss out!

    We were so grateful for the rebooking policy. We were unsure if we would be able to see the lights as the weather had been pretty iffy during the day, but we had a wonderful evening. The lights were amazing. So grateful that Leo taught me how to use my camera in night mode. I was able to get some great photos without even having a tripod. The reindeer sausage was pretty good considering I didn’t want to try it. The photographers were patient and tried different poses. (We don’t have our photos back yet-hoping they will be good). The only hard part was that we didnt get back to our hotel til 3:30 a.m. and we’re leaving for the Artic Circle in just a few hours.

    Great guides. Food food. They try to ooen skies for best viewing. Offered additional night at no charge since viewing was limited on our night.

    Amazing experience! Tony and Mike were fantastic guides. We saw a sky full of Northern Lights, roasted reindeer hot dogs by the fire, and took unlimited photos (all emailed to us in raw form at no extra cost). Everything from pickup to drop-off was smooth. I highly recommend this tour to anyone!

    Cloudy night but they traveled to find the aurora. Hours in the van, they did find even though early season. We're helpful with getting the camera settings dialed in.
