This tour takes you around Ikebukuro and Sugamo Jizo-douri shopping street, including Koganji Temple. You can visit all of these places after participating in a tea ceremony wearing a beautiful kimono! You can ask any question to one of the knowledgeable and kind guides. Perfect tour course for those who have already explored all the main areas like Shibuya and Harajuku and want to see something different.

I've been to Japan a few times. I always went to famous places like Asakusa or Odaiba, but I happened to visit a tourist information center in Ikebukuro and was introduced to this tour. Hearing that it doesn't get many tourists, I signed up right away. When you come to the Tour Starting Point, you receive a notebook and a coupon that you can use later in the shopping street. You also get to choose your favorite kimono color and wear it. It was my first time wearing a kimono, and the instructor was very helpful and kind. After taking photos in the kimono, we traveled by a red bus. I heard the bus is an eco-friendly electric bus. Wearing a kimono was so new and fun. I felt like I had become a Japanese person, and there are, to be only slightly exaggerating, no foreigners at all in Sugamo. First, we visited a temple and looked around. After that, we had free time, and I bought and ate isobe-age (a Japanese deep-fried food) at the shopping street. It was so, so delicious, and as I walked along the street, friendly Japanese people would politely ask me in English what country I was from. There was so much food in the shops, and it was great that they told me about the famous stores. Since the tour operates on weekdays, it seems really good for those who have other plans on the weekend. Absolutely no foreigners—I highly, highly recommend it!!!
