The tour was incredible from start to finish! Our guide Ryoko was very thoughtful and ensured I had all the essential knowledge before starting the meal. The sushi omakase course was served at one of the most prestigious and highly sought-after sushi restaurants, and we were incredibly fortunate to secure counter seats right in front of the head chef (Waka-danna)! I got to observe his master skill within a foot! Ryoko took the time to teach me about the rich history and culture surrounding sushi, which deepened my appreciation for this culinary art. Beyond the amazing food, I walked away with fascinating insights about sushi culture and etiquette, which made the experience all the more enriching. I highly recommend this experience to anyone looking for something special, unique, and eye-opening. It’s not just a meal; it’s a memorable journey into Japanese culinary traditions!

Ryoko-san was a wonderful guide and I learned so much from this experience! I’ve eaten at higher-end sushi restaurants before, but always felt a bit timid/awkward since I was worried I was unknowingly doing something wrong/impolite. But Ryoko-san’s manners lesson beforehand taught me what I needed to know to walk in confidently! (And she was very supportive and sweet when I inevitably made some fumbles during the meal, haha) And of course, the sushi itself was SO good. The restaurant is tucked away off a side street in a residential-ish area - truly a hidden gem, and a place that locals frequent! I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for an authentic sushi dining experience :) Note: the manners lesson is held at a separate location, “Hotel Gajyoen”, which is STUNNING! If there is room in your schedule, it’s totally worth arriving early to take some extra time to explore it!!!

This experience was wonderful! I've had high-end sushi with business associates before, but I didn't know any of the etiquette that should have gone with it and we racked up quite a few faux pas that night... Here, I got a mini-lesson on the etiquette beforehand and a stress-free place to practice right after. I still had some faux pas, but both Ryoko-san and our sushi chef were very open, friendly, understanding and helpful, answering all of my questions with lots of detail and satisfying my curiosity. I don't know anywhere else you can get such an in-depth experience of sushi. I can't recommend this enough!

I lived the experience with a friend and it has been great!! I have learned a lot about the history of sushi, its techniques and above all, the proper way and etiquette to eat at a Sushi restaurant. Of course, the food was delicous and the atmosphere was very good, but everything was in a perfectly balanced by Ryoko, she is a great host, leaving no doubt and always explaining everything with a smile. His english is perfect, it is a unique experience that cannot be missed if you come to Japan!.
