  We booked this day trip 3 days before as we had managed to see everything in Madrid, so this was the perfect addition to our trip. It was well organised and affordable. The damascene workshop was a unique experience, especially to see them work on the jewellery pieces. However, we were not given an exact time to return to the bus, so unless you actually wanted to buy something, you end up having to wait a while for all the group to get back. The tour guide gave us a lot of info which was very interesting while we were driving around. The walking tour was very informative and then we had 4 hours of free time in Toledo where we had time to eat, sightsee more at our own pace and grab some drinks. I would recommend it as it is less hassle to go for this day tour rather than get there yourself.

  Honestly, the travel and information given in the bus was ok. However once we started walking around I noticed that we made very few stops and the guide seemed in a hurry to finish up. I had taken a tour a couple of years ago with the same agency and loved it, that is why I wanted to repeat the experience with my husband. But I felt like that it wasn't the same. Their punctuality for pick up and the office job, was very good. Super confi buses and the driver makes you feel secure on the road.

  We arrived at the meeting point on time and were informed that the bus had already departed. We proposed several solutions, such as rescheduling the tour, joining the group at the destination or having the bus come back to pick us up, but none of these options were considered. What bothered us the most was the attitude of the agents, who were uninterested and unprofessional. There were three people attending and none showed willingness to help us or find a solution.

  I have been on bus tours with guided walking tours around the world from China to Greece and this was the worst!!! First we were given a meeting address that did not correspond to the bus stop. We missed the tour we signed up for and substituted this one. When we arrived in Toledo we spent an hour of the tour at a sword and dagger factory. Then on to where the walking tour commenced. The guide began talking before everyone was off the bus. He took no note of how many guests he was responsible for or for the fact that there were elderly on the tour. He used no identifier like an umbrella or flag. Up escalators, stairs and finally a ramp. At the top of the ramp four of us became disoriented because the guide was nowhere to be seen. He did not wait to make sure all those on the tour were with him. My companion and I managed to find the group. The others didn’t. We did however miss whatever was being presented at the first stop. I’ll admit to being rude when I told the guide that he needed to be aware of who his clients were. While we had about an hour in the factory gift shop, when the walking tour began, the guide was in such a hurry that I don’t think our tour lasted as long as the stop at the factory (tourist trap). The return trip was bad too! The bus creaked and groaned the whole way. It sounded like a gaggle of geese - badly in need of repair. Don’t take this tour. Take a regional bus or the train and download a digital walking tour guide.

  I booked the half-day excursion to Toledo as in the afternoon I had a flight, they never came looking for us. When we started the tour we were given a paper where it said the return was 13:45, we were at the meeting point at 13:30 and never showed up. I contacted the company and the only alternative they gave me was to return at 16:30, so we did not reach the flight, so we had to pay another return on our own.... Some irresponsible.

  It was a great day out with enough information without being boring. We were given good suggestions on places to look at and given a few hours to explore and enjoy Toledo. Good value too as initially we were going to take the train on our own but we would then have needed more travel time and extra costs for taxi.

  While in Madrid, set aside a day to get to know Toledo. Beautiful city, beautiful cathedral. Fantastic architecture. Walk the streets, discover an old synagogue.
