You will appreciate the real Parmigiano cheese production in a very traditional factory. It will be possible to see the when cheese makers pull the cheese from the milk vats. You will then be taken to the seasoning/storage rooms to see the final stages of production.
At the end of the tour there will be a tasting of different aged Parmigiano Reggiano Cheeses.
For Parma ham Prosciutto factory visit we will proceed to the idyllic hills of Langhirano home of Prosciutto di Parma Ham. You will move into the “environmental temperature stage”, by visiting the seasoning rooms, here characterized by the typical scents of the ham. During this stage it will be explained the method of “spillatura”, the process in which only the finest ham pasts the test, those selected by the Inspector of the Consortium will then be branded with the infamous ‘Crown of Parma’.
At the end of the food tour there will be a degustation of Parma ham and a glass of Malvasia, a sparkling, white local wine.

Enjoyed our experience. It was in November so not packed. Pickup was easy, just followed the link to google maps. We really liked the cheese wheel room "heaven." Also the prosciutto was very tasty.

We were picked up a bit after 10am at the designated spot. I was really happy, after all the unexpected rain, to be in a comfortable van for the tour. We stopped at a local Parmigiano Reggiano factory and took a look at the entire process, and had a nice sample with some wine. After that we stopped at a Proscuitto di Parma factory as well, which was wonderful and I really enjoyed meeting the Proscuitto master there, slicing the meat himself. Overall it was a really fun experience and given off-season it was really nice to get a lot of extra content and time to ask a ton of questions about everything.

Very much worth it for cheese and ham lovers or just the curious. The tour guide, Sergio, was excellent, especially since he makes prosciutto on his own small farm.

Truly an immersive experience into how Parmigianno and Prosciutto are made and the unique characteristics as to why only the products made in this region can have an authentic label. Sergio, our guide was excellent. A farmer himself, he gsve amazing insights.

We had such a fun day. Roberto was an excellent guide – funny and very knowledgeable. His passion and obvious joy for what he does made it more enjoyable. Watching the cheese making process was fascinating - really provides perspective. The ham production was interesting and the family that runs the business was really nice. The tastings were plentiful and delicious! We took a quick train ride in from Bologna and easily found the group. Everything was well organized. Highly recommend this tour - especially if you get Roberto for your guide!

Our guide, Lorus, was incredible. He speaks multiple languages, is a level 3 sommelier, a certified balsamic expert, has great knowledge of the production aspects of these wonderful foods and also has a great sense of humor. His demeanor only elevated such a wonderful experience with the cheese and the prosciutto. He also took us to Modena to the areas oldest acetaio. I did not see that option when we booked, but he allowed us to add it. Lorus' trip is a DEFINITE MUST EXPERIENCE.

This was much better than expected. The parmigiano plant was interesting and there was ample cheese to taste. The ham factory was awesome. The owner was the sweetest host. So generous in terms of his time and his prosciutto! Fun afternoon
