You will appreciate the real Parmigiano cheese production in a very traditional factory. It will be possible to see the when cheese makers pull the cheese from the milk vats. You will then be taken to the seasoning/storage rooms to see the final stages of production.

At the end of the tour there will be a tasting of different aged Parmigiano Reggiano Cheeses.

For Parma ham Prosciutto factory visit we will proceed to the idyllic hills of Langhirano home of Prosciutto di Parma Ham. You will move into the “environmental temperature stage”, by visiting the seasoning rooms, here characterized by the typical scents of the ham. During this stage it will be explained the method of “spillatura”, the process in which only the finest ham pasts the test, those selected by the Inspector of the Consortium will then be branded with the infamous ‘Crown of Parma’.

At the end of the food tour there will be a degustation of Parma ham and a glass of Malvasia, a sparkling, white local wine.

My husband and three teenage kids loved this tour. The Parmesan Farm was great, we enjoyed cheese and wine at the end. Great picture spot among the many rows of cheese. We also enjoyed the Parma Ham tour and especially loved meeting the gentleman who ran the place. He was older, with the lovely wife and cute grandkid running around. He served us lots of prosciutto and wine at the end. Great driver and tour guide. Overall was well worth it!

Our guide Pietro was very knowledgeable and interactive with all the guests. The people working at the Parmigiano Reggiano and the Parma ham farms were very friendly. The owner of the Parma ham farm was so proud to share his love for prosciutto with us all. It was definitely one of the best tours I've been on.

The Parmesan cheese tour was fantastic. We saw how the cheese is removed from the kettles and shaped. Then the aging process was detailed. Finally a tasting of some aged cheese. The prosciutto tour was great also.
