Zahara de la Sierra

Heading southeast we leave Seville for the Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park in the province of Cadiz, where one of the highest rainfall points in the entire Iberian peninsula is located. This area, declared a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, preserves among its mountains one of the most beautiful forests in Europe, the pinsapar. The pinsapo (Abies pinsapo) is a species of spruce surviving the last ice ages, which takes refuge in the coolest and wettest umbrias of this mountain range, still preserving some forests such as the Sierra del Pinar, in the municipality of Grazalema. Our first destination will be Zahara de la Sierra, where we will make a short stop to walk through its streets, admire the landscapes of the Sierra from its viewpoint, and have, if we wish, a snack before continuing our route.

From Zahara de la Sierra we head towards Setenil de las Bodegas, the impregnable village, as the story goes; in this beautiful place we can admire its houses carved into the rock, enjoy its wines and taste the rich cuisine of Setenil.

You get experience three small towns in Spain. Each of them is so unique and beautifully. Absolute recommend. Organizer will connect you two days before trip and tell you where/when to pick you up. They will try their best to arrange pickup location close to your hotel, which is really nice. Our tour group has eight, which is small group. Driver/guide drives a large van fits us comfortably. Our guide Carlos is a very friendly welcoming guy. He knows those places really well, knows where is the best views, recommends good restaurants. We enjoyed the day with him. At restaurants don’t accept credit card, he even bought me coffee. There is no additional admission fee required for entire trip. This trip is good for any type of visitors: family, couple, friends and solo.

My family loved this experience. Our guide, Román, was exceptional. Super knowledgeable, and friendly, He gave us great tips on places to see and visit Ducati’s is on the regions gastronomy. We truly enjoyed our time! Even though, it rained the whole day, it gave Ronda a magical mist that was really special. I felt safe and appreciated Román’s driving skills (I am a horrible backseat driver 😆and I felt safe and at ease) Thank You! Román ✨

Excellent tour. Wasn’t an overwhelming drive, all the stops had free time and continuity to all the locations (all having white villages). It made it feel as though we absorbed the vibe of the place as a whole vs. different sites with too short an interval at each. Carlos was very friendly and took us and dropped us. Exactly as I wanted. Didn’t waste time at filler locations or tourist traps forcing to buy something.

All in this tour was excellent, starting with communication exchange with Fran. Our driver was Romàn, very knowlegeable, kind and excellent driver. He knew all about the surroundings: geography, history etc. Recommended best places to see and restaurants for lunch. I highly recommend this trip.

We had a fantastic day trip with the wonderfully entertaining guide Román. Told in advance where we were going and why exactly there. Gave excellent tips for coffee, breakfast and lunch. But was especially for every member of our party a host. A recommendation to make this day trip.

Most amazing day trip we had. Carlos, our driver/guide picked us up from the hotel. On time. It was a small van and we were only 3 families. Very personalized experience. Carlos made it the best experience for us. - He was very friendly and professional. He even helped another family with carrying stroller when they needed help. - He was excellent guide. Explained and informed us about various spots during the visit. - He was accommodating of everyone’s needs and did not pressure us to rush. Only thing I would say is - I received pickup confirmation only a day before my trip. I would appreciate communication from the organizers 2-3 days prior. Otherwise very well organized trip. Also recommend you do this to get glimpse of towns around Seville.

Excellent tour. Fran answered all questions and explained thoroughly. We were picked up on time by our guide Nacho who was awesome. He provided details and had a wealth of knowledge on all stops and gave us enough time to explore on our own. Safe, family friendly and comfortable van. Small group is a plus.
