Parque Arqueologico Pisac
Nestled in the Andes Mountains, about 30 miles northeast of Cusco, the Inca ruins of Pisac are a spectacular sight. These ruins, dating from 1100-1400 AD, feature stone temples, tombs, terraces, and ceremonial structures. Pisac, a key religious and administrative center for the Incas, was a site of spiritual significance and a hub for tax collection and trade.
Urubamba
Next, we'll proceed to Urubamba for a sumptuous buffet lunch. This region, renowned for its fertile soil, grows a variety of crops like corn, potatoes, barley, and fruits. The local gastronomy offers unique dishes such as cuy (guinea pig), chicharrón (deep-fried pork), and chiriuchu, a traditional mix of various ingredients.
Archaeological Park Ollantaytambo
Post-lunch, our tour leads to Ollantaytambo, an ancient Incan ruin in the Sacred Valley. Built around 1450 AD during Emperor Pachacuti's reign, this site features terraces, temples, baths, palaces, and plazas. Ollantaytambo's most remarkable feature is its large stone walls, assembled without mortar, showcasing the Incan architectural prowess. After exploring Ollantaytambo, we'll board a train to Aguas Calientes.

Machu Picchu
This ancient Inca citadel, nestled in Peru's Andes Mountains, was constructed by Emperor Pachacuti between 1450 and 1460. Serving as a royal estate until the Spanish conquest in 1532, Machu Picchu today stands as a symbol of South America's rich history, attracting millions with its enigmatic beauty. The site boasts impressive terraces, temples, plazas, staircases, and residential areas, all built from intricately cut granite blocks, so precisely joined that not even a paper's width can fit between them. For those with tickets to Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu mountain, our team will guide you to the starting points of these trails.
Aguas Calientes
Following the tour, a comfortable bus will transport us back to Aguas Calientes, where you'll have the opportunity to savor a delightful lunch at a local eatery of your choice (lunch cost not included in the tour). I recently traveled with Andean Trekking Perú and had an amazing experience, largely thanks to our guide, Edwin. From start to finish, Edwin was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. He didn’t just lead us on the tour—he helped us with trip planning, answered tons of questions, and made sure we were taken care of even beyond the hikes and excursions. You could really tell he cared about our experience. Whether it was sharing insight about the culture and history, helping us navigate logistics, or just being a positive and helpful presence, Edwin went above and beyond. His enthusiasm and kindness made our trip unforgettable. Highly recommend Andean Trekking Perú—and if you can, request Edwin. He truly made the adventure special.
