You will know all the process to make a chocolate bar with this course.

You will know how to pick good cacao beans from the first step of the process.

The classes run for 2 hours and include:

- Explanation of the pods to bars chocolate making process and history of cacao in Vietnam, how the Vietnamese make chocolate from local ingredients.

- Tasting the fresh cacao pods

- Husking your own cacao beans

- Making your own cacao paste in the traditional style with a granite stone mortar

- Making your own chocolates bar from the first step to the final bar, decorating your own chocolate and to take home with you.

The class is at the store of Ban Cacao - Vietnamese chocolate maker , we make chocolate from local cacao.

Materials for making chocolate:

- Fresh cacao fruits

- Cacao beans

- Cacao nibs

- Cacao butter

- Cane sugar

Tools for making chocolate

- Granite mortar

- thermometer

- Scale

- Chocolate mold

-Wrapping paper

A great experience would highly recommend! Amber was easy to chat to about all things chocolate and Vietnam. Our complimentary drinks were yummy and we got to bring our chocolate home with us!

I came here with my sister for my birthday and am so glad we did this! Tracy who hosted the class was really lovely with fantastic English and explained the chocolate making process to us clearly. So informative and fun, it really felt like we made the chocolate ourselves right from start to finish. Overall, a fun and unique experience that we would totally recommend 😊

Very interesting exploring the various stages of chocolate making. It was good fun. And you go home with your own bars of chocolate, with personally decorated wrappers.

First chocolate making class for me and my 8 years old son. It was very informative and fun class. Class came with a drink each , we each had a hot /ice chocolate it was really yum! We also got to keep two bars of chocolate after decorating our wrapping. Recommend for families / children over 8 as the grinding part is quite tiring.

Such a cool and delicious experience 😋 Very fun and informative and got to eat and drink so many chocolate products, as well as take home what we made. Would definitely recommend to all.

Strewth, what a ripper of a time I had at this chocolate workshop! Never in me life did I think there was so much to making a block of choccy. These blokes running it were top-notch, knew their stuff back to front about the whole bean-to-bar gig. It was bonza learning how they roast the beans and all that jazz, right through to pouring it into the molds. And get this – we even got to scoff down the choccy we made ourselves! Fair dinkum, it was grouse. If you're ever kicking around Vietnam, you gotta give this a go. It's a real eye-opener and bloody delicious to boot! Cheers!

I went alone and didn't know what to expect. I didn't expect the experience to be so great, practical knowledge, skills, chocolate making tips. I enjoyed it and was eager to make my first UNIQUE and MEMORABLE chocolate bars. I graduated with honors lol ^^

If youre looking for something a little different to do in Saigon, this is it. Was a wonderfully wholesome experience, got to learn about the chocolate making process, sample a chocolate drink and make our own chocolate bars. Highly recommend!! Will come back next time in Vietnam. Our host, Bee, was knowledgeable, friendly and lovely. We had a great morning!
