Forbidden City-The Palace Museum
Forbidden City, the largest Imperial Palace in the world. you will spend a couple of hours wandering around this amazing example of Imperial architecture and learning about the history of the palace. Forbidden City was the imperial palace from the Ming and Qing Dynasties. For around 500 years , it served as the home of emperors and their households, as well as the ceremonial and political center of Chinese government. The tour route : Forbidden City is divided into two parts. The southern section, or the Outer Court was where the emperor exercised his supreme power over the nation. The northern section, or the Inner Court was where he lived with his royal family.
Shichahai Scenic Resort
Walk around old Beijing hutong at the downtown area. Hutong is a Mongolian word meaning water well. At nine meters (about 30 feet) wide, it is the name given to a lane or small street that originated during the Yuan Dynasty (1271–1368). Now they have become representatives of local culture, thus it is the first choice for people who would like to learn about the local history and culture.

Mutianyu Great Wall is a one of the most famous and ideal sections of the Great Wall. You will have your choice of taking the cable car or chair lift up the breathtaking wall and spend a leisurely 1 to 2 hours hiking up and down the various sections exploring the Watch Towers and marveling at the construction and beauty of the renown and legendary Wall. You then have the option of an exhilarating toboggan ride back down or simply return the way you came.

5.00Three days was not enough to see all of Beijing but we managed to pack in many of the highlights thanks to our wonderful guide Lena. Despite the traffic and time constraints, we never felt hurried and a special request to visit the art district was happily organised. Lena took care of all the tickets, organised wonderful lunches in restaurants we would not have found ourselves and ensured that our driver appeared magically to whisk us to our next destination at exactly the right time. We learned so much from listening to her and thoroughly enjoyed her company. We can't recommend Lena highly enough. If I could give her six stars I would!! We also organised a pick up from the port and a drop off at the airport through Catherine Lu Tours and everything went like clockwork. Thank you to all at CLT who helped to make our visit so memorable and enjoyable.

5.00We booked airport pickup and 3 days day tours. Both Guide and driver are on time. They do not rush customers as it goes with your own peace and likes. Do not bring us go shop to buy. Guide, kathy is knowledgeable give good explanation of history at temple of heaven and forbidden city. She also helps to check on my request where to rent costume near to temple of heaven. She asked around to get contacts and help booked a slot for me. Also, she checked on palace dessert set info which I am interested to try out. Normally need take a quene number and wait but lucky we reached 11am on a Thursday and need no take q number. Can buy and have seats immediately. She also told us which toilets are cleaner and less crowded to go too. Also helped to book Da Dong duck restaurant for us. I am sure booking Catherine Tours will give you a peace of mind when travelling. All is taken care of. Thank you!

5.00We wanted to experience as much of Beijing as possible over the five days we were there, so decided to spend extra for an English speaking guide and driver for three of those days - after all, very few people there speak English, and Beijing is a massive city with heavy and often chaotic traffic. For Westerners like us, we figured we needed all the help we could get, especially since China already has extra layers of cultural and political mystery as an ancient Asian, now Communist nation. Happily, Catherine Lu Tours did a great job for us. Everything was done as promised, on time, with good communication. The cars very comfortable, the drivers were capable, and our guide Lena was excellent. Her English was terrific and she was extremely knowledgeable about the history of the sites we visited - the Great Wall, Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven, Summer Palace, Lama Temple, and the hutongs. At our request she also took us to the 798 Art District where she managed to locate a great little shop I'd been hoping to find. What made the experience special though was Lena's great manner. She never hurried us, was always very friendly, chose some great local restaurants (included) for lunches, and was happy to talk about life in general and her own everyday experiences. She also gave great tips for shopping areas, bookshops etc. We learned so much from her - not only about the history of the city but the lives of ordinary people there today. Stepping around the language barrier really helped enrich the whole experience.

5.00We had the best 4 day tour with Catherine Lu Tours in Beijing and can't recommend them enough. Our guide (James) and driver (Mr Lu) with his brand new Buick 7 seater van were patiently waiting at Tianjin port when we left our cruise. They navigated the crazy Beijing traffic and we visited the Drum Tower, Hutong area then had an authentic Peking Duck lunch (so delicious). We then walked Nanluoguxiang Street marvelling at the local delicacies and enjoying the vibes of this street before being dropped off at our Hotel (privately organised). Days 2-4 Kathy took over as our tour guide and she was amazing!! We visited all the top attractions in Beijing (Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Jingshan Park, Temple of Heaven, Lama Temple, Summer Palace) along with a little bargain shopping at Hongqiao Pearl Market. Of course the bucket list experience of walking the Great Wall of China was such a highlight - along with seeing the Ming Tombs and Sacred Way. Each day lunch was included so we sampled some great local food. Kathy was a fabulous guide - very easy to understand and had a great knowledge of every location. We loved our conversations with her and hearing a little more about life in China. She planned each visit to best manage the crowds (although it's almost impossible to see any sites here without any crowds) and Mr Lu was always waiting and ready in an instant to pick us up and whisk us to the next spot. You won't regret booking this tour - their communication prior was excellent, the guides were clear, efficient, professional and knew their stuff, plus the food included was very generous. It was so easy having everything taken care of - tickets, lunch, transport so we just got to enjoy our time in this incredible city.

From the moment the tour began, she brought an incredible mix of professionalism, warmth, and knowledge that made the entire experience great. 5.00Had the best time in Beijing with Sonia our tour guide. The trip was well paced and Sonia was full of information and an added perk, a great photographer. We were encouraged to start early for the Great Wall day and she could not have been more right. We were able to walk basically straight on to the chair lift. Line was about 3hours when we were leaving. Would highly suggest this tour to friends and family.

5.00Excellent, exceeded all expectations, the staff (Guide, Driver) were exceptional, nothing was missing, on the contrary was done more than expected. Lilian (Liz) is very competent, became a friend of the class. I recommend to everyone with a maximum score, it is 10, è difficult to make this trip without professionals of this quality.
