Berat is a historical city in Albania and a UNESCO site. You will explore the historical neighborhoods of Mangalem, Gorica & Kala. You will visit Berat Castle, the Red Mosque and the Holy Trinity Church. You will go inside the Museum of Iconography and the National Ethnographic Museum. In the afternoon, you will have some free time to shop for souvenirs, take pictures & stroll through the cobblestone streets. Hotel pick-up in Tirana, transportation and all entrance fees are included.

Berat Castle

The first stop of the tour is the Castle of Berat. The Kala fortress is an enormous castle on the top of the hill in Berat. From the castle, you will have amazing views in all directions and see the historical town and river below. Within the castle walls, you will see a village-like neighborhood, called Kala. Until this day, some people are still living within the castle walls. The castle dates back to the 13th century and there are many Byzantine churches within the walls and one Ottoman mosque.

The Holy Trinity Church is one of the best preserved churches inside the Berat castle. It will be one of the first buildings you see, as you walk up the hill towards the upper castle. The church is very beautiful and quite an eye-catcher. It was build in the 14th-century and still remains beautiful until this day.

We booked three day tours and a three day round trip. In advance, Manon advised us well. Jack is a knowledgeable, reliable guide and a safe driver. (Land Rover, very convenient) He brought us closer to the culture, history and landscape of Albania. I highly recommend tours with Jack and Manon

The whole day was a wonderful experience. We were treated so well and Jack made sure we were informed about the history of the town and the area. He was very knowledgeable and easy to get on with. It was a most enjoyable day all round and we were glad of the opportunity to see more of the beautiful country.

We did 2 tours combined (1 day to Berat and 2 days to Ksamil, Burint etc) with Albania Tour Guide and both were excellent. The contact with Manon before and after we booked the tour was really good. We did our 1+ 2 day trip with Jack and it was professional and personal at the same time. We felt very well taken care of, the guiding at the different stops were really interesting as well as all other information about the country and its history. The tips/advices we got for restaurants was excellent! It was a lot of driving and it felt like Jack was a really good and safe driver as well. When we come back to Albania we know who to contact för new tours. Thank you Manon and Jack for making our trip to Albania so interesting and nice!

This one of several trips we took out of the capital Tirana with Jack, a partner in the guide service. No surperlatives are sufficient to describe how good and informative jack’s service was. To back up his knowledge he is a genuine, kind and caring professional as well as his driving skills which are excellent, a must in Albania. His partner Manon is also a great guide and an excellent communicator and administrator re bookings and emails.

We had a great time on our day trip to Berat with Orlanda. There were only 3 of us and we had free time to walk around Berat as well as seeing the main sites. She also recommended some restaurants, one of which we had one of the best meals while in Albania. Highly recommend her.

My sister and I did this day trip with Manon and his driver (I forget his name sorry) and it was a lovely day! We enjoyed the view, the history of the Berat castle, and exploring this small town. We appreciated particularly the stories that Manon shared with us about Albanian traditions and native peoples. It was an activity appreciable and without a rush. Man on recommends us a nice restaurant where we could try the true Albanian dishes and have a lot of fun with local people. Our driver was lovely and let us listen to Albanian music while we were contemplating the farms and fields on the road. I recommend it for sure! I will contact Manon for my next holidays in Albania (north trip). Thank you a lot for everything !

Worth to see the City of thousand Windows, (Berat) added in the UNESCO heritage list. With this the tour of castle added more joy. You will find yourself in altogether a different world, highly recommended. This was a personal trip, the tour was planned professionally, very punctual, provided what was promised in the agreed price. Highly recommended guys, thanks Jack :-)

We did 3 separate day trips (1 with Manon and 2 with Jack). They are a lovely couple who speak very good English. The first tour we did was to Berat and it was lovely to see this beautiful town and the views from the castle were excellent. The second tour we did was to Lake Komani. Whilst this is a 4hr journey each way with a 5am start, it was well worth it. I’ll be honest I didn’t know a lake as beautiful as that was here when we booked a holiday in Albania, it’s very much on par with what you’d see in somewhere like New Zealand. The third tour we did was Cape Rodon, this was more of a relaxing peaceful trip. Throughout the trips Manon and Jack constantly answered all our questions including ones not related to the tour as we like to get a better understanding of a country and no better way than to ask those who live there! Guys, thanks again so much for sharing your beautiful country with us. We absolutely intend to recommend you and your country to others. We just felt so safe and literally every person we met was welcoming.
