[GLUTEN FREE, VEGAN, VEGETARIAN Options Available] What makes the Foodapest Cooking Class unique is that it blends culture, flavors, connection, and history into one experience. Unlike a standard cooking class during the morning classes, we begin with a guided market tour at the iconic Central Market Hall, where guests taste local specialties from real Hungarian producers. From there, we bring those fresh, seasonal ingredients to our cozy Budapest-style venue and learn how to prepare traditional Hungarian dishes, based on real family recipes. Along the way, guests connect with the city, the food, and each other: discovering not just how Hungarian cuisine tastes, but how it’s shaped by tradition, stories, and everyday life in Budapest. It’s not just a cooking class, it’s a cultural experience served family-style.

I had a lovely late afternoon/early evening experience learning to cook Hungarian Paprishka with egg noodles and a delicious poppy seed bread pudding with vanilla sauce. Niki was a very engaging teacher with a great sense of humor. Our small group of 4 had a great time sampling appetizers and wine, cooking our dinner and dessert, and enjoying each other's company as we did so. I left feeling very nourished by the delicious food, the exposure to Hungarian food and social culture, and the companionship of my fellow students. After class I took a lovely walk heading north along the Pest side of the Danube. Budapest is a vibrant city at sunset with locals and visitors enjoying a stroll along the river. The waterfront music scene was pretty cool too. I highly recommend the cooking class and taking a walk along the river afterwards.

We had a wonderful time with Kinga, Nikki, Emma learning how to make Goulash. The trip in the central market was so much fun and we purchased some items to bring back home. Making the meal was informative and festive getting to know the other couples and Kinga, Nikki, and Emma. The wines , meat and cheese, and pickled vegetables were outstanding. I would do this again in a heartbeat. Thank you ladies for making it an enjoyable day.

Great introduction into Hungarian cuisine. It was a fantastic meal that was easily prepared and thoroughly enjoyable. My wife and I and another couple had the pleasure of being taught by Emma who was fantastic. We made a dish of chicken paprika with dumplings and a type of bread pudding dessert, which I can’t remember the name of. During the meal, we got to sample three different wines and had a delicious charcuterie board of meats, cheese and pickled vegetables. highly recommend.

We really enjoyed our Market tour and cooking class with Emma!! Emma did a great job…she shared information about the Market, Hungarian wines and customs, and taught our group how to make chicken paprikash…it was delicious!! It was a very enjoyable way to spend time in Budapest…the rest of our group were great (there were 9 people total…perfect group size). We tried pickled vegetables, meets and cheeses, paprikas, wines, and had a beautiful meal together. A wonderful time!!
