5.00A week ago we had the very best tour of Montmartre. It was just the two of us and Chef PJ, but that just made the experience all the more intimate, like getting together with a friend of a dear friend, and being shown around. I can only recommend this tour, chef PJ is very knowledgeable about the area and its past, and we were in good hands. We got some great stories and a lot of laughs. We enjoyed ourselves so much, in fact, that we completely forgot to take any pictures during the whole tour.

5.00Chef PJ is at home among friends in the Montmarte district of Paris. As we walked, stopped, sat, savored, and laughed, we were plied with food and facts of the tastiest variety. Chef PJ is very knowledgeable but never stuffy, exuberant but always the host, responsive without condescension, and tres tres fun. Throughout his food tour Chef PJ greeted friends while telling us about the history and artistry of French eating. All along the way he would stop at local shops and buy a cheese, a chocolate, a sauce, a pate, each item finding a home in one of his pockets. When we reached the end point we were escorted into his restaurant where a delightful meal appeared in stages, each stage graced with one of the treasures he’d stowed in a pocket as we walked. Wine, snails (quite good even for a first-timer like me), boeuf bourguignon, and so much more. A one-of-a-kind tour with a one-of-a-kind chap. Total plus.

5.00Chef PJ’s Montmartre food and wine tour was the highlight of our trip to Paris. He began with fascinating stories about the neighborhood’s history, then led us to a patisserie, butcher (boucherie), wine shop, and cheese shop (fromagerie) — each exceptional. Back at his restaurant, PJ prepared an unforgettable multi-course meal featuring escargot, boeuf bourguignon, desserts, and fine wines. The “five-hour” tour turned into eight hours of great food, wine, laughter, and learning. PJ is a colorful character — formerly in the French Navy and now a chef and restaurateur who seems to know everyone in Montmartre. If you want a genuine, entertaining, and delicious taste of Paris, this tour is a must.

5.00Incredible, can’t miss experience for foodies in Paris! We ended up at his restaurant until after 8pm having the most amazing time. I will recommend this experience to everyone I know visiting Paris!

5.00An outstanding, amazing day spent with PJ. He is knowledgeable about food, wine, and life in Montmartre. We visited several specialty shops, each with an education. In addition to the above, PJ is warm and welcoming. He goes over the top to make a memorable day - we left with a new friend. Cheers PJ…. Hugs and thank you!

5.00The food tour exceeded my expectations because while I fully expected to learn from a chef who had knowledge and experience with French food, I was heartened to witness the love and passion PJ feels for what we eat and its importance to community and culture. It inspired me and my family to think more deeply about the source and quality of the food we select and prepare. The qualities that equal more healthy and better tasting food - and I should mention, the food that he prepared for us was extremely delicious. I could not recommend this experience more highly and hope that many more are able to commune and learn from this good human being, this most excellent chef.

5.00Everything I’m writing has been said already, but if you’re considering any sort of food tour activity: do this one! Chef PJ is a wonderful teacher & guide; his attention to detail is top notch. He wants everyone to learn about Montmarte while enjoying the bites & (generous!) wine along the way. I wish every city had someone like him doing tours; I would recommend this to everyone visiting Paris— absolutely worth the money.

5.00Chef was informative about the history of Monmartre (and Paris in general). He explained the wine and food standards of France as he toured us through the neighborhood, taking us to different establishments. He did a great wine presentation at his restaurant and everything was done with humor… he’s quite an entertainer/character and Monmartre is lucky to have him!

5.00This was a different kind of food tour. Chef PJ walked us around Montmartre and gave us a history of the area but also a food history. We started with pastries from a boulangerie. We went to a fromagere and butcher. He showed us what to look for to make sure we purchased quality products. We went to his restaurant where he served us escargot and beef bourguignon. He served 2 types of white and red wines and explained how new winemakers were making really good organic wines. He served a cheese tray and i tried a bleu cheese that i actually liked. We ended with sparkling wine and desserts- caneles, macarons, and chocolates. It was a very memorable food tour.
