8.00AM Our guide and vehicle pick you up at any hotel in Hanoi (or meet you at our meeting point of Hanoi Opera House if you do not request for a pickup at your location) then depart for Cuc Phuong national park. It will take approximate 2.5 hours to get to Cuc Phuong (The park was officially opened in 1960 as the first nature reserve in Vietnam).
On arrival to the Park gate, you get entrance tickets then keep going further to the Park Center. You first visit the “Cave of Pre-historic Man", the limestone cave, which was excavated in 1966. It was one of the earliest discoveries of human habitation in the country, with graves, stone axes, bone-made spears and tools dating back some 7,500 years. During the excavation 44 years ago, archaeologists found skeletons in three tombs where they believed prehistoric people had lived in the forest 7,500 years ago. In 2000, archaeologists discovered a fossilised sea reptile called placodontia, the first to have been found in Southeast Asia, dating back 200-300 million years.

Would not recommend this tour. Our tour guide wasn’t helpful at all. He was walking through the trekking portion of this tour very fast. I asked him twice to slow down so we could all take in the sights and look at the animals in the jungle (as I live in London I don’t see jungles everyday…) but he kept walking far off into the distance. He didn’t know much about the park or the jungle so we didn’t get any useful information. He said we didn’t finish the trek because “we were physically unable to” but we wanted to end it as we were getting very frustrated due to the lack of service after paying over £200 for 3 of us. The cherry on top of this was via WhatsApp on the return journey I was sent a few recommendations for restaurants, because we didn’t tip when getting out of the car the recommendations were deleted…. This was very unprofessional. Would not use this company again.
