Venetian cuisine is famously hard to get to know—but not when you’re in the company of a local food lover who knows the city like the back of their hand. Hop from one bacaro (Venetian wine bar) to another sampling two different types of cicchetti and other local specialties accompanied by drinks at every stop. By the end of the night, your expert foodie guide will show you where to eat, how to eat, and what to eat when visiting La Serenissima.

Step off the tourist track and into the neighborhood of San Polo to meet your expert local guide and small group of fellow foodies. Your guide will give you a brief introduction to the traditional foods and flavors of Venice, then take you to one of their favorite modern wine bars for an aperitivo. Enjoy two small plates of bread-based cicchetti and a spritz, Venice’s unofficial cocktail. After a brief stroll past the Campo dei Frari and Scuola Grande di San Rocco, your next stop is at a beloved osteria in a beautifully restored building. Here you'll share a board of cold cuts and cheese with a glass of prosecco. Next, visit a local canal-front wine bar specializing in fried cicchetti, a favorite starter among Venice locals. You’ll taste a few along with a glass of local vino as your guide tells you about the culture of sharing food in the lagoon. Tucked away from the main streets in the Dorsoduro neighborhood, the fourth venue is a cozy restaurant where you'll enjoy a plate of traditional pasta paired with a glass of wine. From there, you'll head to one of the city's most iconic gelato shops to end your evening on a sweet note!

We really enjoyed our tour with Barbara! Was an amazing experience to tour and dine with a born and raised Venetian. We learned a lot about not only the food culture, but also Venetian history.

This was the perfect tour for a night in Venice. Our host Emanuela was kind, funny, and kept the group entertained the whole time. We went to restaurants and ate local dishes we would’ve otherwise never tried. It was the perfect amount of time, and for the price an amazing experience of food and wine!

I felt that this tour was really over-priced for the food we received. Although we did taste some foods typical of venetian cuisine most were small bites that would cost a small fraction of the price if walking in from the street. I was expecting a full pasta dish for main course but we received a saucer sized plate with three mouthfuls of pasta which was extremely disappointing to be honest, I was shocked. For 99 euro I would expect more. A tourist trap in my opinion. Our guide was nice however. Also expected from the pictures that there would be a group of at least 6 to 10 but was just myself and an older couple who were lovely. I would not recommend as a whole and woildnjust go to a really decent restaurant and pay half.

Great experience. Got to taste lots of things. Yes, this is a walking tour, but then again, all of Venice is walking. We had a good group of people. The guide was great.

This was such a great experience and I wish I would have thought about doing this tour in the other cities we were in Italy. Our guide was fantastic! She kept it fun and knew so much about the food and cocktails of the area. It was also a bit of sightseeing as we were winding our way through Venice.
