  Ramy was all the things you want in a tour guide…knowledgeable, kind, funny, cheerful. It shows he really cares about educating you and making sure you have fun. I will be doing more tours with him!!!

  My partner and I had such a great experience with our host Rami, learning about the process, history and flavours of Mezcal. Rami was a great host, picked us up from central Oxaca and began straight away telling us about the history while we headed out the city. We visited two distilleries, tried more Mezcals than we can remember. Rami was a great host, friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Would 100% recommend if you’re in Oxaca and interested in Mezcal.

  As long as your expectations are right, you will love this tour. Keep in mind this is not a industrial size distillery, it's small and family owned. Therefore the tour is also small and family operated. We were picked up in the square by an individual in his personal vehicle and we drove 45 minutes away to the location. However, the host, Christian, was great, he was very accommodating and did a great job explaining the process.

  A very interesting and informative look at the traditional and ancestral method of distilling mezcal. Our guide Rami has a lot of knowledge and enthusiasm for his subject and provided us with a great education on mezcal. Best of all is that you get to taste the end product (and a lot of other different kinds of mezcal).

  Mezcal Tour Experience with Ramy was a fun way to have an introduction to the Artisanal Production of Mezcal in the countryside outside of Oaxaca - we loved the tasting, and purchased some great Tobala’ and Añejo exclusive Mezcal … we would highly recommend this tour!

  We had the absolute best day with Ramy! He is such a charismatic and welcoming guide. The tasting felt like visiting old friends rather than a formal tour. We visited a family-run palenque that felt authentic. Ramy’s passion for the culture is contagious. We walked away with a massive appreciation for the craft. Highly recommend!

  Ramy was awesome. I loved all the detailed information he gave us on the process of making mezcal from the harvesting of the agave to the bottling. Being able to actually see and touch each part of the process was super fascinating and he was such a wealth of knowledge. Going to the agave fields in the barrel truck was okay. The roads are quite bumpy and you have to brace yourself on the wooden benches, the music was very loud, and we were with a real rowdy group. I really enjoyed the stop at the polqueria to try honey water and polque though. I would've preferred if Ramy had shown us around the entire time since I liked his tour style and vibe more. I would absolutely recommend this tour with Ramy even if you're not a big fan of mezcal because it's such a cool facet of Oaxacan culture. I came away appreciating mezcal even if I don't really like the taste much still hah. But seriously, it's a great tour that's so much more than tasting mezcal (although you get to do a lot of that too!)

  We shared this experience with our Japanese friends and the four of us loved the tour. Ramy our tourist guide clearly explained all the process to produce mezcal, he guided us through the artesanal steps and explained with detail the differences among agaves. We learnt about mezcal while walking, watching, touching, smelling, drinking and listening. A totally recommended experience!

  Ramy was an incredible guide. The tour flowed perfectly, with each stop connecting in a logical way that helped us really understand the history and context behind mezcal. I especially loved that it wasn’t just about how mezcal is made, but also about Ramy’s own journey to becoming a master mezcalero—it made the experience feel personal and authentic. The tasting portion was a highlight. Ramy took the time to train our taste buds and explain the differences between industrial, artisanal, and ancestral mezcals in a way that finally made it all click. He was punctual, attentive, and checked in often to make sure we were comfortable, with just the right number of breaks. I left feeling both educated and inspired. Highly recommend this experience.

  This was one of the most impressive tours I have ever experienced. Beautiful Mezcal, beautiful country and a wonderful tour guide. Ramy, our guide, was exceptionally knowledgeable about the history and differences of the variety Mezcal we tried. The charming ride out to the agave field in an awesome truck converted into a barrel of Mezcal as beyond beautiful and it was an experience I wont soon forget! But above all, Ramy was such a great tour guide. If you are looking for an in-depth and fun tour of all things Mezcal, look no further and book with Ramy!
