Zona Arqueologica de Monte Alban
Only 20 minutes from the city will be the maximum archaeological zone that Oaxaca has, guided tour within the zone. Monte Alban is the maximum Zapotec capital, it is spectacular and we are going to give you every historical detail of the place.
Teotitlan del Valle
The town of Teotitlán del Valle is located 30 kilometers from the city of Oaxaca and its meaning is "place of the gods", in the Nahuatl league. It is famous thanks to the quality and beauty of its wool textile products: rugs, jackets, bags, sarapes, tapestries, "corridors", carpeting, curtains and dresses, made on large wooden looms and decorated with natural dyes, whose designs go from the traditional Zapotec and Mixtec frets and griffins, to reproductions of contemporary painters. The elaboration of its textile is 100% handmade from the washing of the wool obtained from the sheep in the river, the carding of the wool, the elaboration of the thread through the spinning wheel, the use of natural dyes based on insects and variety of plants, until completion on their pedal looms.

5.00This tour was an incredible way to experience some of the highlights around Oaxaca in one day. Everything was very well organized from start to finish, and the day never felt rushed despite covering several amazing places. Monte Alban was fascinating, and our guide did a great job explaining the history and significance of the site. Hierve el Agua was absolutely stunning and gave us enough time to walk around, take photos, and enjoy the views. The visit to Teotitlan del Valle was a wonderful cultural experience. We loved learning about the traditional weaving process and natural dyes. The mezcal stop was the perfect way to end the day. It was informative, fun, and there was no pressure to buy anything, which we really appreciated. Overall, the guide was knowledgeable, friendly, and enthusiastic, making the experience even better. This tour offers excellent value for money and is perfect for anyone wanting to learn more about Oaxaca’s history, culture, and traditions. Highly recommended!

5.00A wonderful day! Daniel was a fantastic tour guide - entertaining, friendly and knowledgeable. This was a fantastic day to hit a few ‘must-sees’ in a single day. Having our own car definitely helped make the length of the day feel manageable - we weren’t stuck to an itinerary. There was a spot specific tour guide at each place (except Hierve el agua which was an explore on your own) and I have to mention Ishmael in particular at Monte Alban. He was absolutely awesome. Infectious energy, so knowledgeable and made the 2 hours at the temple particularly memorable.

5.00This was 10/10. Irwin our driver and main tour guide was friendly, flexible, and knowledgeable. Each stop had an awesome guide and experience as well. We were comfortable, felt taken care of and was able to relax and enjoy while taking in the culture, the history, and the sites!
Perfect combination of archaeology, natural wonder, culture, and some mezcal fun!

5.00We had a fantastic day exploring the various places around Oaxaca, complementing perfectly our days in the city and fitting in just enough for one day, with not too much time on the road, a bit of walking (for all levels) and lots of interesting insights. We lucked out with Daniel who was not only extremely knowledgeable and a smooth driver but a wonderful companion for the whole day. Our highlight was probably Monte Alban because this was where his impact was most felt while he showed us around and explained everything so well. Highly recommended tour!

5.00This was a wonderful tour of Oaxaca and cultural sites. Our guide Yareth was awesome and really educated us about the history of Oaxaca and each place we went. The van was nice, spacious and clean. The sites we visited were all interesting and many were beautiful (ie: great photos!) Would highly suggest this!
It was informative, we saw so much and had a great time!
