We welcome you into our home with open arms! Immediately, you will feel part of our family and our traditions. We begin our welcome, the same way my abuela did with me, with hot chocolate and pan. I love to share my stories and traditions of my culture with you. Classes can be in spanish or english.
Our class will take place in our beautiful outdoor kitchen, located on our terrace. You will learn to prepare food and cook in a traditional Oaxaqueña kitchen, called a brasero - a traditional brick stove, with open fire.
We will get busy in a hands-on cooking experience where you will learn to prepare appetizers, traditional drinks, salsas and main dishes.
In the culmination of our hard work, we will share in a group meal around the table with food, drink, stories, laughter, love and of course, mezcal.
We look forward to connecting with you over food and flavor; one of my cultures oldest traditions.

When you arrive, you will be welcomed with pan and chocolate; a long tradition in Oaxaca. You will learn the ways to create the perfect hot chocolate. Then we will begin to prepare salsas, appetizers, traditional drinks and a main dish. This is a hands-on class and everyone will be actively involved. In the culmination of our hard work, we will share in a meal together around the table, with laughter, stories, love and of course, mezcal.

Salsa verde, salsa molcajete and guacamole. These 3 components are integral in a traditional Oaxaqueno meal.

Chileajo con verduras
A simple and delicious dish of potatoes, carrots, and green beans, nestled in a chile guaillo salsa, (which is not spicy,) will surprise your senses.

Chile Rellenos
Prepared with chicken, vegetables, almonds and picadillo salsa. *dishes can be prepared vegetarian and/or dairy-free upon request.

Fresh Fruit Plate
We will prepare and sample local, organic fruits for a dessert platter.

5.00We had a lovely time! Chef Adhey and her husband were delightful. We learned about the importance of chocolate in Zapotec culture, enjoyed stories about Adhey’s grandmother, whose recipes we made, and of course thoroughly relished the salsas and chili rellenos we made together. A delightful evening!

5.00Absolutely incredible!! Could not recommend more strongly. We had such a fantastic time with Chef Adhey and her family. In addition to the meal being absolutely delicious (recipes I will be bringing home with me), the energy and enthusiasm that Adhey and Enrique brought made it as memorable as it was. If you’re on the fence - do it.

5.00Ray and I had a fantastic time. it started off with Enrique, Adhey’s husband picking us up at a designated spot. When we arrived at their home we put on our apron and talked about how she became a chef and how she was influenced by her grandmother. We made a traditional hot chocolate with a special chocolate that she made. Enrique started the fire in a stone fire place with a counter at one . This is where we cooked our meal. We all had a job to do in preparing. Once it was done, we sat down and shared a wonderful meal that we all made together. I highly recommend booking. It was worth every minute. I would recommend this to any friends coming to visit Oaxaca . Thank you Ashley for such a great evening and experience. It was an honour to meet you.

5.00Absolutely fantastic cooking school experience. The class was hands-on, fun, and perfectly paced, with clear instructions and loads of laughs along the way. Owners Adhey and Enrique went out of their way to make everyone feel welcome and to keep the atmosphere relaxed and enjoyable. Everything was beautifully organised, the ingredients were fresh, and the final meal was incredible. Would thoroughly recommend.
My favorite experience in Oaxaca by FAR- do NOT hesitate to book and support this local loving family.

5.00Chef Adhey, her husband Enrique and their two sons, sus dos corazones, were incredibly warm, welcoming and offered an incredible dining and cultural experience. They were so welcoming and the food was by far my favorite meal I had in Oaxaca. As a solo traveler it was a lovely way to meet locals and learn about the culture. I cannot recommend this experience enough, it was the best thing I could have done with my limited time in Oaxaca. Anyone who doesn't book w time with their family to laugh, drink, eat and learn is seriously missing out. It was worth every penny. I felt like I was with family almost immediately!

5.00Chef Adhey and her beautiful family were so welcoming and kind to us all that when we left we called them our compadres. We had such a wonderful and fun filled time cooking along with them. We sang, danced, and shared personal stories all because they made their home our home. We will treasure this experience in our corazón forever.

5.00Fantastic cooking class experience! We were picked up from the meeting point and had a short trip to Chef Adhey’s home. The class space is great for a group up to 8 people. We all cooked and chatted and worked together to prepare different salsas and chile rellenos. Had so much fun and felt welcomed to Oaxaca by Chef Adhey and her family.

5.00This was a truly amazing experience with Adhey and her family. They were so welcoming, smiley and we immediately felt at home. I cannot recommend it enough - the food was fantastic, the dancing and beers super fun and we got to experience a Mexican home in a completely unique way. Muchas gracias Adhey y toda la familia (incluso las abuelitas!!) - nunca voy a olvidar esta experiencia y espero que puedo volver en el futuro.
