Great tour, but didn’t start on time.

3.00The tour itself was great. The tour guide, Stefania, spoke perfect English and gave us lots of information about the Academy, Michelangelo, and the David. But stars taken away because it didn’t start on time. Our tour was booked for 11:50am with a request to get there 10 minutes early. So we were there by 11:40. We were told to wait there. We waited and waited. I asked the lady if we were supposed to have gone already. She told us we were waiting for a few more people. Turns out, no one else had signed up for our tour, so they put us with a group starting at 12:15. But they were never polite enough to tell us that. They just told us to keep waiting. Bowever, we had planned for a 1 hour tour that started at 11:50, and we had to be somewhere else by 1:30. We let the tour guide know, and she rushed us through the Academy, so we got to see and learn everything we wanted to see. Then we left while she stayed with the others in the group. I was happy with our tour, but I wish they would have been straightforward about delaying us. It did start right on time for the 12:15 group.

5.00Only wanted to see David. Our guide was professional but friendly. Though we had to wait due to security lines, we went into the Academia in good time. Thorough description not only of David, but glimpses of Michelangelo’s personality. Perfect tour for our family!
