The Accademia has housed the David since 1873. It also has other sculptures by Michelangelo; a large collection of Florentine paintings from 1300 to 1600; mural-like pieces from Perugino, Filippino Lippi, Pontormo, Domenico Ghirlandaio, and Bronzino; and, downstairs, Florentine Gothic paintings, including altarpieces by Giotto.

5.00Our guide - Olga - represented the answer to the question of why would you need a tour guide when visiting the Gallery. She was speaking about Michelangelo and David with so much passion that you could enjoy the visit in a totally different way. Made our day absolutely special.

5.00A fantastic museum with both art and old musical instruments and of course David by Michelangelo! The guide was very well read and interesting to listen to. Among other things, we learned that the Renaissance more or less started in Florence thanks to the Medici family money. In the 16th century, a school of philosophy, art and music was established in the building where the museum is now located. Schools of music and art still exist there in separate parts of the building. Also want to mention the nice Jonalyn from Crown Tours who received us and arranged that so well!

5.00The view were excelent, and the guide Hershey demonstrate wery good knoledge . David is amazing and demostrate the extraordinary work from Miguel Angelo. We are impressed for this cultur demonstrated of the long time befor us. It is unbelivabel to show all the demontration of art in the Galery.
