Ella Rock
If you love living green, then Ella is obviously a place to visit. Ella Rock is one of the place which proves it. Trekkers would love the place. It’s bit tiring to do the hiking. But it is definitely worth it. Once you got to the summit you will realize why we said so. The panoramic views it provides with mist and cloud covering the area, especially in the early mornings and the late evenings are something you should witness and that would suffice enough to say that you visited Ella. Total time for climbing up and down is 4 hours. Yes, sounds like a long journey. But the way up there is with full of diversity. If you are starting form Ella train station, you would enjoy the rail walk, and soon as you started climbing up, you will be passing a waterfall, the rubber tree forest and tea plantations. On a rainy day, it can be slippery, so better be cautious with what you wear for the journey. Wear something suitable for a hiking and towards the end of the hike,.still manageable.
Ravana Ella Falls
This waterfall measures approximately 25 m (82 ft) in height and cascades from an oval-shaped concave rock outcrop. During the local wet season, the waterfall turns into what is said to resemble an areca flower with withering petals. But this is not the case in the dry season, where the flow of water reduces dramatically. The falls form part of the Ravana Ella Wildlife Sanctuary, and is located 8 km (3.7 mi) away from the local railway station at Ella

5.00Our Guide Sam was very friendly and knowledgeable. When we climed Ella Rock he frequently asked if we needed breaks and gave us water and even a banana. Along the way he explained the plants to us and other interesting facts about Ella. He also drove us to the nine arches bridge at the right time to see a train pass by. He also made sure we got to see everything before it started to rain. All in all it was a great experience which we loved!

5.00Had come to Sri Lanka for work and spent a week touring the country, Ella is a must-see! Sam guided just me around via tuk-tuk (would have brought a bigger vehicle if party size was larger. I was given an excellent tour of hikes, good food, hidden gems and facts about the locations I was being shown. I was on a budget for my trip, so didn't spend money when I didn't need to in Colombo, Galle, Kandy etc. The thing with Ella is it a small town, with less than obvious signage about where to go on hiking trails. Also difficult to navigate with just public transportation. I thought with all of the expertise, a meal, entrance fees paid previously, the price of the tour was more than worth it, and from someone who tried very hard to save and self-guide when able, this was absolutely essential for my trip to Ella, as I may have only seen one of the sites if I were on my own. A huge thanks to Sam (hello from Canada :)), and thanks for making me so welcome in your hometown.

5.00We had a great day with Sam as our guide. Picked us up on time in his tuk tuk from the meeting point. The walk up Ella rock was fantastic, lunch at a local restaurant in Ella before visiting the Demodara station, 9Arches bridge and Ravana falls. We ended the day at little Adam’s peak. We opted to do the sky walk up which was good fun. Sam was knowledgeable and friendly throughout the day. A great way to see these attractions in a short amount of time.

1.00Driver arrived late and couldn't speak english. Very disappointing experience, the sights were great though. Next time please let us know if youre going to be late.

5.00Our guide Dila treated us very well and took so much care of us, coming to meet us and dividing the tour into two days as per our request for reasons of time. We experienced breathtaking sunrises from Ella Rock, iconic views from Little Adam’s Peak, the thrill of the train on the Nine Arch Bridge, the coolness of a waterfall and the ingenuity of the Demodara Loop. Dila, very prepared and always available, also gave us beautiful photos that we will cherish forever. 📸 Perfect organization and ideal times to enjoy every stop without haste: a tour that we recommend to anyone who wants to discover the green heart of Sri Lanka between nature, adventure and dream views.

5.00From the golden sunrise over Ella Rock and Little Adam’s Peak, to the train crossing the Nine Arch Bridge, to the coolness of the waterfall and the charm of the Demodara Loop... every stage was pure wonder. Our guide Dila? Prepared, smiling, excellent photographer ... and perfect accomplice in organizing a birthday surprise in a local restaurant: a special and priceless moment. 5.00We had a great tour and even greater guide in Sam. He was very punctual and knowledgeable of Ella, from Plants and trees to navigating around the hills to get us through traffic to our stops and history of the landmarks. His English was great and was a super friendly guide. Would highly recommend the tour and Sam again. Also he was extremely patient with the hike..

5.00Our full-day Ella tour with Dila was amazing – everything we hoped for and more! Dila was chilled, knowledgeable, and super friendly. He made the whole group feel comfortable and engaged with everyone so naturally. He kept the day running smoothly and on time, took great photos for us, and even organised a pickup from outside the usual area for a very reasonable cost – such a legend! The 4x4 driver was also lovely – so friendly and all smiles the whole time, plus a great driver on the winding roads. Lunch was absolutely delicious and a generous portion too. To top it off, Dila also arranged our airport transfer after the tour. Honestly, couldn’t fault a thing – highly recommend booking with him if you want a memorable, well-run, and relaxed experience!

5.00The tour was fantastic. We saw so many beautiful, interesting places in Ella that day and learned a lot and yet everything was relaxed. Hiking, getting to know animals and plants, bathing, fine food, a perfect day with Dila, an absolutely competent and sympathetic guide, who also took photos again and again and sent us afterwards.
