Cuc Phuong National Park
Cuc Phuong National Park (Vietnamese: Vườn quốc gia Cúc Phương) is in Northern Vietnam, 40 km away from Ninh Binh city. It is Vietnam’s largest national park and one of the most important biodiversity sites in the country. It is home to hundreds of species of flora and fauna. The park can be visited from Hanoi as a day trip or visitors can stay at the park’s lodgings for a longer stay. Visiting the park is a terrific opportunity to get a close look at Vietnam’s nature. Fees generated from tourism help protect the parks wildlife and improve the local economy. The best time of the year to visit the park is during the dry season, from Nov-Feb.
Endangered Primate Rescue Centre
The Endangered Primate Rescue Center is a not for profit project dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, breeding, research and conservation of Vietnams endangered and critically endangered primate species. First established in 1993, through a collaboration between Frankfurt Zoological Society and Cuc Phuong National Park, the center is presently managed under the umbrella of the Vietnam Primate Conservation Program, jointly operated by Zoo Leipzig and Cuc Phuong National Park. More than 180 animals have been born at the center, some being the first of their species to be born in captivity, including the critically endangered Cat Ba langur, Delacours langur and the Grey shanked douc langur. Today the center is home to around 180 primates representing 15 species. The primates are housed in more than 50 large enclosures including two fenced semi wild areas of primary forest, measuring 2 and 5 hectares in size. These enclosures serve to prepare animals for release into the wild and provide opportunities to study the behavior of animals in semi wild condition

Po was friendly and helpful. The tour was difficult for my mother, who found too many steps very strenuous. Po took photos for us, helped us where we struggled. The lunch was excellent- lots of food, all very tasty, and included in the tour price. I enjoyed seeing the cave, and the monkey rehabilitation centre was good too. I would recommend the tour, but if you struggle to walk with stairs this is going to be very difficult for you.

What a day....... our guides Thai and Huyen were fantastic. We had a great day together learning about each others cultures and visiting some amazing places. The work at the conservation site was great. Well done for looking after these amazing animals. Then a stop at the prehistoric man cave LOL....... interesting and we even got our guides to squeeze into an area they hadn't been to before. After his we headed down for lunch average food, warm beer and not super clean but the guide wasn't happy either and did register his disappointment. Then a trek through the rain forest to the 1000 year old tree. You need some fitness as it is up and down steps , slopes and uneven ground although i'm not very fit and still managed. On arrival a little disappointing as you cant get close to it as its chained off. Would have loved the chance to get close and touch it. Nonetheless and great trip when all is said and done.
