Pisa is one of the top destinations in Tuscany and is very close to Livorno but reaching the tower by public transport can be troublesome, it can take a lot of time than expected and be careful which train you take because it can be even more expensive than you imagine!

5.00My wife had never been here before, and so we needed to get to the site as cost effectively as possible. The tours from the cruise ship were just too expensive for poor folk like us. The day was beautiful; the journey was comfortable, we were all cheerful. My wife adored the place. It was an epic adventure, and unforgetable.

Tour of Pisa 10 minutes walk. Find the parking lot.

4.00Transfer 20 minutes late but caught up on the return time. That's 1:20 instead of 1:00. The two hours available are sufficient to contemplate the buildings from the outside without a visit.
Tour is as it reads - not guided; you have to manage your time.

4.00My friend and I enjoyed this excursion. You get what is offered - a quiet (in our case) bus ride to/from Pisa and a ticket into the Leaning Tower (if option selected). I have given the tour 4 stars because I think the company can do a better job with providing information. First, it is quite a hike from the bus parking lot to the square, with no signage providing directions. Not a major issue, but helpful to know in advance. Second, although we were told that you would have to put backpacks in a locker, they did not tell us it was across the piazza - not in close proximity to the tower. Unless you have someone to be a line place-holder, go there first.

4.00The bus takes us from the center of the city of Livor no to Pisa, about a 20-minute walk from the Tower. There are no stops along the way, the activity is 100% autonomous there is just enough time to climb the tower of Pisa, see the Cathedral in 4th gear, and take a quick bite to bring before returning to the bus

5.00You must repurchase your ticket into the leaning tower as it was fully booked out prior to our arrival. Some great food available, and plenty of shopping. The walk was quite far from the bus stop for my elderly Aunts and it was a blazing hot day…. But very enjoyable!
