The Great Wall at Badaling

This day tour to the Great Wall will begin after a professional tour guide and private driver pick you up from your hotel lobby. This 1-hour long drive will bring you to the Badaling Great Wall so you may experience the greatest man-made projects on earth. On the way, you will drive by at Juyongguan Great Wall for photo taking.

Later have a short break and enjoy lunch in a nice local restaurant. In the afternoon, continue to explore the Great Wall at Mutianyu section, which contains an extensive history and is part of the glorious culture of China. You may take a cable car at your own expense or just walk step-by-step to enjoy the breathtakingly beautiful scenery. At the end of the tour, the guide and driver will transfer you back to your hotel in Beijing.

I didn’t hear much from the operator after the booking and hadn’t seen any reviews about the tour so was taking a chance with it. I chose this tour because it goes to three sections of the Great Wall and I wanted to see as much as I could. The night before the guide messaged through WeChat but of course I hadn’t used until with this guide. The guide arrived 40mins prior to the pick up time. That was fine for me as I was having trouble staying asleep. The guide spoke great English. Her name was Angie and she was very lovely and attentive. It was my birthday and she had carried a small cake up with her. We stopped and ate it on the steps of the Great Wall. This was the best birthday ever. I didn’t feel she was just a guide, we laughed and had fun like old friends. She took lots of photos of me. We went up the lift together, went tobogganing together. I had seen another private tour where the guide let the person go off on their own. My guide was with me all the way. I got very lucky with my guide. The driver was a safe driver. He didn’t speak any English but that’s common for the drivers in China. I had such an amazing memorable day and highly recommend the tour. Ask for Angie if you can!
