Besides the house, restored as the painter the habitat, the visit includes the painter’s studio and a walk in the extraordinary garden.
In the pink plaster house, where Claude Monet lived from 1883 to 1926, you can visit:
On the ground floor: the “small blue lounge” , the grocery store, the workshop lounge, the dining room and the kitchen (with blue Rouen tiles, a huge stove and copper utensils)
On the first floor: the private apartments with Monet’s bedroom, Alice’s bedroom.
In front of the house, the gardens consist of:
- from the "Clos Normand" to the straight line, the vaults of aerial plants surrounding dazzling massifs.
- the “Water Garden” shaded by weeping willows, composed of its famous Japanese bridge, glycine's, azaleas and pond.
The tour is at your own rhythm and our guide will give you all the information you need to manage your free time.

5.00We booked this excursion with France Tourisme for a half day at Giverny after comparing offerings from other tours. Frankly we weren't sure what we were going to get when we booked the semi-private, mini-bus tour. France Tourisme exceeded our expectations and my wife and I enthusiastically recommend this tour to others. Our guide, Roland. was kind, articulate, pleasant, knowledgeable, helpful and very interesting. One amazing thing he did was to navigate us around some of the bigger tours while we were at Giverny. It felt like a private visit to Monet's house, garden and pond and we could see that the other larger groups were doing a lot of waiting and a lot of crowding. That expertise was well worth the cost of the trip which was modest to begin with. The day was picture perfect and Roland filled the visit with the right amount of information and let the magnificent setting speak for itself, too. He truly made the trip special. This visit to Giverny was extraordinary and far surpassed what he had hoped for. Extremely well done!

1.00The day before the scheduled trip we received an email that the company was canceling the trip. We were offered a refund or later trip. We attempted to contact them for a later trip but no one responded. We then cancelled and requested a full refund. Refund granted.

5.00Phillipe was outstanding: knowledgeable, funny and very caring. We had a couple of people who had trouble walking, and he always made sure they were OK. And he did this without inconveniencing any of the more able participants. He took us on a couple of unscheduled stops to see things he thought would be interesting. And he is a good driver, navigating the streets of Paris like a pro.

5.00Awesome little tour with Serge, who has been touring for 25yrs. He was a pleasure to listen too and got us in and through around the massive tours. Worth every penny. His knowledge of the countryside and Monets first home and town was such a plus. My child loved his energy.
