Fondation Claude Monet
Begin your day by boarding your comfortable, air-conditioned private bus in central Paris. Once inside, you’ll meet your tour co-ordinator, a local expert who’ll accompany you throughout your trip to provide you with insights and stories about the sites you’ll visit. Your first stop is the Fondation Claude Monet in the village of Giverny. After a brief but fact-packed orientation tour, you’ll be free to explore the Impressionist master’s estate at your leisure using a convenient self-guided audio app. The house has been restored to how it was when Monet himself lived and worked there, and many features of the estate are familiar from his great works – like the ponds carpeted in luscious water lilies.
Palace of Versailles
Then it’s a short bus ride from Giverny to Versailles, where an official palace guide will escort you past the line, directly into the Sun King’s opulent seat of power. With over 700 rooms and 2,000 acres of gardens, Versailles is magnificent inside and out. You’ll see highlights like the Hall of Mirrors and Salon of Abundance, fountains and secret garden groves, and an art collection to rival the finest museums. In keeping with the surroundings, the royals and courtiers who populated Versailles at its height were larger than life; your guide will share some of the wildest moments of the palace’s history.

3.00We were a group of 5 ladies travelling together. Pick up was fine and transport was comfortable. The guide for Giverny, however, commenced his commentary with a history of himself which was most uninteresting. He talked constantly for the entire trip and unfortunately with his lack of English Grammar skills, made the delivery of the commentary very difficult to listen to. On arrival we were disappointed with the inflexible nature of the organisation.We were unable to get some breakfast and then enter the garden and home. We were forced to enter with the entire group and therefore could not leave, have our breakfast and then re-enter the gardens and the home independently. When questioned the guide insisted that it was the rules of Monet's Garden and he could not offer any further explanation. We feel that it would be more suitable if tourists were advised, that there would be no ability to have food until the entire tour was completed. We therefore could have made better arrangements for ourselves. For the experience at Versaille we found the guide to be very suitable and we would like to offer positive feedback regarding her presentation. The only review we could offer to improve the experience is to let you know that the fountains are not always operational and it would have been good not to have expectations that we would see them.

5.00Giverny was amazing and Versailles was so gorgeous! Our tour guide for the Giverny part-Amit- was underwhelming. He shared some basic history about Monet’s life in a very monotone manner while we were on the bus ride from Paris to Giverny. There was no guided part of the Monet tour once we were on the property. We were a bit rushed because the tour left late because the bus was late. Even with all of that, the gardens and the water lilies were stunning and not to be missed. At Versailles our tour guide- Martha- was phenomenal! She answered every question thrown at her. You could tell she loves her job and we learned so much thanks to her- I wish we had her at Giverny! All in all an amazing day- would recommend!
