Fondation Claude Monet
Begin your day by boarding your comfortable, air-conditioned private bus in central Paris. Once inside, you’ll meet your tour co-ordinator, a local expert who’ll accompany you throughout your trip to provide you with insights and stories about the sites you’ll visit. Your first stop is the Fondation Claude Monet in the village of Giverny. After a brief but fact-packed orientation tour, you’ll be free to explore the Impressionist master’s estate at your leisure using a convenient self-guided audio app. The house has been restored to how it was when Monet himself lived and worked there, and many features of the estate are familiar from his great works – like the ponds carpeted in luscious water lilies.
Palace of Versailles
Then it’s a short bus ride from Giverny to Versailles, where an official palace guide will escort you past the line, directly into the Sun King’s opulent seat of power. With over 700 rooms and 2,000 acres of gardens, Versailles is magnificent inside and out. You’ll see highlights like the Hall of Mirrors and Salon of Abundance, fountains and secret garden groves, and an art collection to rival the finest museums. In keeping with the surroundings, the royals and courtiers who populated Versailles at its height were larger than life; your guide will share some of the wildest moments of the palace’s history.

To start, the meeting spot was incredibly easy to find—so long as you read the fine print! The trip to Giverny was roughly 80 minutes, but our guide yapped enough to pass it by quickly, and not too much that we grew tired of her before any of the fun had even begun. Giverny was a stunning little village nestled in the rolling green hills of Normandy. I won’t give any more information that that! We were given ample time to explore, and didn’t feel like we were being dragged away from the experience to reach the next one. Versailles is a must see! If you’re not into French Classical or Baroque architecture, or a thorough breakdown of Louie XIV's day to day, then the gardens themselves are still worth every cent. There's no way to feel like enough time was spent wandering the acres and acres and acres of carefully manicured greenery, but unfortunately all good things must come to an end. And a neat bonus: the return trip from Versailles was very short, which was a relief after a long day of exploration.

I am not an art enthusiast...I only know Monet by name🤦🏻♀️ but I went because my husband has some interest in art. I was blown away by the tour at Monet's House. Michelle was an excellent tour guide. She was very knowledgeable and funny. The Palace of Versailles tour was with another tour guide (I can't remember her name). She was very knowledgeable of this Palace and gave us a lot of history of this Palace. My only issue with this tour guide was she wasnt very tall (and I am not very tall) and Versailles was VERY crowded so when she walked through the crowds it was difficult to find her because she wouldn't extend her flag high enough for anyone to be able to see through a crowd. It was just hanging right above her shoulder. When she would talk in the ear pieces I could hear her but eventually realize she was in the next room. Other than that, it was a great tour. Well worth it.

The tour guide seemed knowledgeable on who the artist was, but he was very uptight and he didn’t even care about the group when walking when we got to the palace of Versailles he led us to the wrong direction. We had to trek like at least 1.5 miles to get into the correct entrance and I didn’t appreciate how he raised his voice at me.
