5.00This shorter ride takes you through beautiful countryside. The guide takes pictures too so you have memories to take with you. I had beautiful weather despite forecasts. Guide Phoebe is very friendly & tells you a lot about the area & local farming.

4.00We had a lovely morning riding along this scenic location. My 14yr old son and I chose this tour and were well looked after and guided by the team. The horses were excellent and the scenery was gorgeous despite the low cloud cover. My son is keen to come again!

5.00Fun horse riding experience, will be around the ancient gold land (now no longer exists) and nearby hills around a round, not very difficult, the horse is basically very controlled, recommend a try

5.00I don’t really write reviews but I’m making an exception for The Cardrona team as they were exceptional! The scenery was epic, and Phoebe kept us entertained with all funny anecdotes of the horse drama and the history of Cardrona. Angus, Pat and Andy were all super well behaved - the best horses we’ve ridden on! I must say Pat was quite the character as he kept wanting to stop and eat the willow trees but we loved him for who he is. Last but not least, Etty and Jimmy! The most affectionate cats ever and this is from a proud cat mom of two Ragdolls! If you do decide to ride with The Cardrona team, do take time to say hello as they come and go and you might not get a second chance when you’re back from the ride - we didn’t manage to say good bye to the lovely kitties :(

5.00Me and my two daughters had our own group with Hanna as instructor. It's a great ride. Lots of galloping and fantastic riding routes. The horses felt very nice and well kept.

5.00Wonderful place! Incredible horses. Truly cared for, gentle and wonderfully trained. Did the ride with a 6 and 8 year old and Hannah was so attentive with my 6 year old. She felt so safe on her horse and both kids had a spectacular time. Huge confidence booster. The scene is lovely as well. Lucky to see baby lambs and cows for added cuteness. The people who work here clearly love the horses and know what they’re doing. This level of love and attentiveness will be hard to match elsewhere! Highly recommended!

5.00We absolutely LOVED our ride at Cardrona! We booked a family friendly tour, as all 3 of us (13, 16 & 43) had some experience, but hadn't been on a horse for a few years. Hanna created us in the morning, (together with the 2 gorgeous cats), and had already prepared the horses for us. Since it was a bit cold and rainy she gave us gloves and even one of us could use an amazing long jacket, which we really appreciated!! We quickly got onto our horse and took off for the most beautiful ride! The horses were great, so friendly and responsive! Each of them with their own personality, which was explained to us, and showed during the ride. But all very calm and amazing horses! The saddles were very comfortable! Hanna took us through the fields and up the hills around the stables, and gave us great info about the region and the nature around! For a small fee we organised that she took photos and videos of us while out, which was great! We would have loved to keep going for the whole day, as it was such a beautiful ride. And we truly enjoyed it! Definitely a highlight during our South-Island trip! Thank you Hanna, and of course Willow, Pat and Andy!!!!

5.00It was my children’s first time horse riding and I’m not far from beginner myself. The guides were amazing, friendly, patient and reassuring and it didn’t take long for my son to feel less anxious and enjoy the ride. We crossed a flowing creek, climbed the surrounding hills, walked past some grazing cattle and watched the weather chance dramatically. The views are next level, beautiful countryside and snow capped mountains. We had an amazing time.

5.00Perfect afternoon trail ride with the family. Summer was our guide and she made us all feel welcome and gave us an insight to the history of the area. Very enjoyable and would definitely return.
