Our fleet of modern Mercedes vans are fitted with leather seats, panoramic scenic windows, Wi-Fi and Spotify. Enjoy a small-group journey with 15 people maximum for ultimate comfort and undivided attention from your guide.
Let your Altitude Tours guide entertain you with in-depth knowledge of the area, as you travel from Queenstown into the Fiordland National Park on the famous Milford Road. Enjoy many scenic photo stops at both famous locations, as well as your guide's favourite spots.

Please bring walking shoes, warm clothes and rain jacket.
Please be aware that Milford Sound is a 5 hour drive from Queenstown (one-way with sightseeing stops). This is a full day excursion, and including the 1hr 45min cruise on the fiord, allow approximately 13 hours door to door.
A packed picnic lunch is included in your experience. The default choice is a chicken, however you can request a vegetarian lunch until 5pm the day prior.
Please bring a reusable water bottle on tour with us. There are multiple locations to refill during the day.
The cruise operator requires all passengers need to be able to board and disembark the vessel without assistance in case of an emergency.

Start your day by meeting our friendly local guide at or near your Queenstown accommodation. You'll travel in style in a premium Mercedes van designed for touring with only 15 seats onboard. The first leg of our journey to Milford Sound transports you from Queenstown through the picturesque Southland farming country and the charming town of Te Anau, where we'll make a brief stop by the lakeside for refreshments.

5.00Went on the Milford Sound small group tour with Altitude tours. The trip was a long drive, but our driver/guide, Will, entertained us with facts about the area in a humerous fashion. We made several interesting stops along the way to help break up the trip. I would highly recommend Altitude, small group tours. Driving a smaller vehicle allowed us to pass larger buses and visit the sites along the way with less people around.

5.00We had a wonderful trip, which was made extra special by our great driver / guide Will, who was charming! Lovely to hear about his family and he kept us well informed and looked after us so well...even his play list was first rate! A long day, but an experience not to be missed!

5.00Thanks to our wonderful driver, Thomas, who was very friendly and informative. We enjoyed many unhurried stops along the way, viewing waterfalls, snow capped mountains, streams and rainforest. On arrival at Milford we were immediately able to board our boat. The boat trip was perfect, with light rain and sunshine, plus a few seals and a couple of dolphins. On our return we were entertained by a destructive Kea pulling apart a door seal.

5.00Excellent guide (Amy Rain from Venezuela). Comfy large van, lots of viewing stops for panoramic photos and bird watching, informative guide who made the long day very fun. Plenty of bathroom breaks, swanky catamaran with tea/coffee and biscuits. Use discount code ‘Amy’ when booking to save 10%.

5.00We upgraded to the Business Experience and it was worth it, the 5-course lunch was great as well Mary was our tour guide and she was incredible. She was so professional and pleasant. They thought through everything, it was truly perfect and the beauty is unsurpassed. Truly a must if you go tto New Zealand. I will remember this day forever.

5.00A must-do from Queenstown. The drive alone is already spectacular, with plenty of stops, without ever feeling rushed. A great two-hour cruise with some waterfall fun, and back in Queenstown on time for a late dinner. And this all with a small group in a very comfy Mercedes van, expertly driven with excellent personalised commentary by Will.

5.00Great day. We got lucky and had fabulous weather. Saw an amazing rainbow, Kia’s on multiple stops and our driver/guide Chelsea was excellent - very informative and pleasant - made the long day very good. Ask for her - she was great!
