A fun and informative introduction to Wellington.
Leaving from the grand Neo-classical train station, a quick walk to the Parliament grounds will provide insight into New Zealand and Wellington politics. From here we'll take a walk atop the Wellington seismic fault line to the botanic gardens, these gardens marry the exotic with the native beautifully, and we shall garner an understanding of New Zealand's unique flora and fauna as we walk through some dense New Zealand bush.
Reaching the top of the gardens, at the top of the cable car, we'll take in the beautiful view, point out some landmarks and generally orientate ourselves.
From here we will walk through suburbs and places 90 percent of tourists never see, winding up on Cuba st, the heart of the city, for a quick refreshment.
We will finish at the national Museum on the waterfront.
Guests are guaranteed to come away from this tour with a better understanding of Wellington and New Zealand.

Our guide, Louis, was excellent. He was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and willing to answer any and all questions that we had. Due to a cancellation of another couple on the tour, it was a private tour. But we were not rushed and the tour wasn't shortened because there were only two of us. This was our favorite activity in New Zealand!

Louis walked us gently to the summit which was a great way to see and hear about the various neighbourhoods rather than take the cable car. We walked through the botanical gardens, had a drink in the cafe at the top, took in the fabulous views and walked down the other side through different neighbourhoods rather than. Louis was a great guide and happy to go at our pace. Highly recommend.

Louis led our tour this morning and it was an excellent way to see Wellington and learn so much about the area and New Zealand. We did a lot of walking in this beautiful city but none of it was strenuous. We chatted the whole tour and time flew by. What beautiful views Wellington has to offer. We really enjoyed taking those back streets and then popping out at places we had read about before the tour. How convenient. We took this tour on our second full day in Wellington. We love how we will be able to carry around the knowledge we received.

We fully enjoyed our walking tour with Louis. Throughout our walk he covered a wide variety of topics which led us to a deeper understanding of New Zealand: the volcanic history, native flora and fauna, Maori history and culture, the New Zealand government, history/architecture of Wellington and its neighborhoods. Definitely time and money well spent! Thank you, Louis

It was a very nice hike up the mountain. We got some very good views from the mountain top. Our guide was top notch. We mention some other things that we would like to see and he accommodated us the best that he could. He was very talkative and informed.

We did a morning tour with Louis. He’s great. Simple as that. He loves Wellington and it shows. We talked about history local and national, politics, culture, Māori traditions, biodiversity, you name it. Walked through some amazing neighbourhoods and the botanic gardens. Great recommendations too. Louis is a gem of a guide.
